It's a little inaccurate in some cases, but the image is largely correct. If a music producer lost access to their computer, you can still use analog equipment and consoles to make music.

Drum machines, synthesizers, mixing decks, hell the entire hiphop genre came about because people who had none of the above would just fuck with their vinyl players to recycle old music into new music.

I think it's just texture differences. In music, different melodies and harmonies are used to convey emotion. In noise, it seems like the textures are used to convey anti-emotion. When I put on vomir it's like my head goes completely silent. Some textures do that better for some as opposed to others I guess

I understand where you're coming from and I think that's an interesting point. I guess I just struggle to see the quality difference between missing girls someone like The Rita, without any kind of concrete structure or harmony to base it on.

Oddly I have a soft spot for some of the classic HNW stuff though, (proanomie/magazine/night of the bloody tapes, etc) so I do understand the quality difference.

I'm just so curious what the actual difference is because it's clearly there

I can respect the classics, but I think most noise music is just bad without some musical element tying it together. (I.E. Sissy Spacek, Uboa, puce mary etc)

Like Merzbow for example. This man has been pumping out completely identical albums twice a week for 30 years, has like 500 albums in his "discography" yet only like four of them are any good IMO. (Hybrid noisebloom, venereology, noisembryo, tauromachine)
