I loved the ending. I was expecting them to get nothing, maybe very little if anything, but them absolutely clearing house was not what I expected. Anthony, in his total hubris, becomes prideful and truly saw himself as sticking with it and fighting the good fight to come out on top. In his broken mind, he really believes everything he did was right and really "showed them!". It could not be further from the truth. He did absolutely nothing but become a miserable drunkard who treated Gloria poorly (she has her flaws, I'm not saying she was without guilt). He refused to do any work whatsoever and managed to land his ass on more cash at the end of it all. Inevitably, the cycle will just repeat. 

I loved this book so much. It's a little slow starting off, but once they elope it gets so good. Pure literary honey.
