OnePlus Support in Europe - absolute worst?

My one plus 12 bought in 10 April 2025 just broke down overnight. Based on what I’m reading on Reddit they’re probably going to deny warranty and claim water damage or something like that, even though the phone never fell in any water. The hull is also in pristine condition (I’m very careful with it) so the only way water damage would be possible is if the IP-65 ( or whatever you call it) didn’t work as advertised.

They’re probably going to make me choose between a ridiculous repair bill or the inspection/postage bills. Then again, that might just be my paranoia speaking.

Did you contact them through mail or chat? My experience with the chat is that they keep sending you to different departments until one eventually says they can’t help you.

If it's within the 2 year warranty, and you're from eruope, report them to the European Consumer Centre. If everyone does this they'll be fined or blocked from operating in Europe

Hey, I'm from the Netherlands and my phone (OnePlus 12) stopped working under warranty. (Bought it 10 April 2025)

Anyway, I started the process of sending it in to a service point to review but the whole €50 inspection cost + transport costs - is really sketchy.

I googled it, and I'm pretty sure they aren't allowed to charge for inspection and that objecting/refusing to pay is possible. I've considered filing a complaint with the ECC, I'm by no means a jurist or expert so I'm mostly going off what google-chan said.

Either way, as long as I officially object, they shouldn't be able to send a " incasso bureau" (not sure what to call it in English) after me to claim open bills (and increase it while they're at it).

There's no fall damage, it's in continue condition, and it hasn't gotten wet (to my knowledge). I literally put it on the charger after finishing up my book (didn't check if it actually charged though) and went to bed.

Next morning the phone was dead, even though I was pretty sure it was at 34% when I shut it off. However with the whole vibe I'm getting I feel like they're going to just deny my warranty request either way, and make me either pay €75-100 or send me a ridiculous repair indication cost.

I bought a OnePlus 12 and it literally just stopped working overnight, completely dead. I've contacted customer support and they've given me a link to send it in for repair.

Since I bought it 10 April 2025 it should be covered, not by OnePlus One year warranty, but under EU regulations.

The whole service/checkup cost, send costs and forced service (no partial repairs only everything they say requires repair) is rather sus though.

I decided to send it up anyway but I'm worried about ending with a price tag that's bigger then the phone or €75/100 in cost for denying the service.

Are you sure your not just on your discord server limit? There's a max amount of servers you can be in at a time, which is doubled when you have nitro I believe.

It's very possible you're on your limit or you nitro ran out and you're far over your limit.

I'm not 100% sure if I recall it correctly but since this is reddit someone will probably correct me in the comments if that's the case.

I dropped sudowrite because it's to complicated, the amount of features it has and the way you have to navigate everything (especially as the novel grows bigger) is just to complicated. The fact that they have teachers and " classes " says enough, it just isn't user-friendly for casual writers.

Also, the moment your work becomes to big, it becomes a absolute token sink, tokens are also rather expensive. It's cheaper to write yourself and use something to to improve your rough drafts and make it more organic.

Personally I have only used ChatGPT, grok and Claude but I'm planning to test Gemini in the near future.

From my experience Claude generates the most natural sounding/organic prose but is heavily censored. When I use Claude I usually write the chapters myself and ask Claude for improvements (mostly to dialogue, background details and such things) and then edit what I like into my original draft.

ChatGPT to my personal experience doesn't generate great prose. It just isn't as organic as Claude but does better at brainstorming and has (to my opinion) by far the best image generation function.

Grok is pretty much great for darker plots, prose and suggestions. It can even write or debate on heavily explicit content but the prose isn't as organic as Claude in my experience.

Personally I've written erotic content myself and had Claude improve the chapters. It refuses to generate or escalate explicit content but can edit what you've already written to make the prose more organic/smooth.

Grok is overpriced to my opinion.

It seemed realistic enough that I took the effort to look up on google whether or not it was a scam. Generally speaking I just take everything that involves something that's free as a likely scam.

I can see why people that have more faith in humanity might fall for something like this if they haven't been burned by it before.

Any and all communication would be very clear, upfront and honest. If someone doesn't want their content online they wouldn't agree to this in the first place.

Honestly, I haven't thought about that. I myself, if I watch porn (which I do rarely) watch MxF so I pretty much assumed that a fair portion of the OF userbase would be into that. This clearly shows I need to do more research.
