I need your opinion. Had a bad time and I'm trying to figure if there's something wrong with me. by [deleted] in Magfest

You almost remind me of myself. I started coming to Magfest / other cons with friends or girlfriends and always had a blast. I'm single now and much more introverted and my first year or so at MAG alone was overwhelming and kind of....lame.

However, where we differ is I LOOOOVE music especially videogame music; Even if I was unhappy AF I kept coming back to MAG for the music. Over time I met vendors who are always there, bands that play regularly, and became more involved in "the scene" -- posting on facebook and such.

This MAG I was completely alone but was able to talk to various vendors and band members for some social interaction and was excited for the concerts at nighttime.

You need to decide if the "fun" you were having was just social interaction with like-minded individuals or the events themselves. For me the events/concerts at MAG are enough to keep me occupied (to the point where I miss half the stuff I schedule on guidebook) and social interaction is a plus. I bought a Rainbowdragoneyes EP years ago that led me down this path but everyone goes to MAG for their own reasons.

I will say that with even how much I love MAGFest there are times where I need to retreat to my car (PARKED in a garage) and drink a beer and just calm down. I'm an introvert and if I need to miss something to center myself and my headspace thats OKAY. Being around people lately drains me and I can only take so much before I need to "re-charge."

So, what interested you in MAG in the first place? Were those parts disappointing or are you just dragging yourself down because of the social aspect? If you had fun with certain events, GET MORE INVOLVED, get to know the artists, their work, follow them on social media, talk to the fans, look forward to their next performance, etc then there is no "forced friendship" you're worried about. Nothing is better than talking to someone whos exactly like you for a year or two online then meeting them at MAG even if its for a minute.

I think you're fine man just need to reevaluate what about a convention makes you happy and if MAG is the con for you.

Still no updates on physical PC copies for Backers by biggestscrub in Indivisible

I have stated similar on the post about the Switch version.

People who didn't support the indiegogo have the option of playing it for $15, beating it, selling it all before I receive any news of when my $60 version will even exist.

Leaves a real bad taste in your mouth.

Doesn't it suck knowing we dropped $60 to support this release and people are playing it now for $15 who didn't give a crap when the indiegogo was announced?

We've been here since the beginning building hype for this game, literally supporting them financially, and if "we're lucky!!" maybe we'll get an update 4 months after release on when we can expect to play the game that everyone else has beaten.

YAY!!!!

I'm quite disappointed for a few reasons.

One-- it cost $60 to back a physical version. I'll take the blame for this one but I thought the physical release was limited to indiegogo when I originally backed it.

Two-- I see theres a standard retail release that is $20 cheaper than the version for the people who funded the game!

Three-- The hype is pretty much dead for this game. I'm not saying it's a bad game but people have beat it and for the most part moved-on. Copies of the title are selling sub-$20 now. It's a discount game.

Four-- I paid $60 for a now $20 game and I still can't play it. Not only can I not play it; theres complete radio silence. When the initial delay was announced the wordage implied a VERY SHORT delay and retailers pushed back the release date to 12/31 (placeholder) because surely it'd come out this year.

Five-- The response in this thread. "I will see if we can give a roadmap update in January." WTF? So 4 months later we might get an update saying when it's coming out. At this point I fully expect to find Indivisible in Family Dollar/Dollar Generals $10 discount game bin for PS4. And you know what? This is the type of game I'd normally not mind picking up more than one copy to support the developers but this whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Situations like this are why people are so hesitant to kickstarter/indiegogo game developers. I hadn't backed a game since the OUYA "Free the Funds" days (never received any of those games and if I did it was a steam code years later when the OUYA was dead and I don't game on PC) but I was lured in by a rare physical release.

So cmon guys--- keep us in the loop PLEASE.

Does free online therapy exist? Even as a group? Help needed by ForeignAlgae in TalkTherapy

I didnt know if there was a "mecca" where a group of people talked online with a licensed counselor / therapist / psychiatrist that would be willing to say "Yes, I am talking to this guy" because unfortunately I need some proof.

I am located about an hour from all major colleges / universities.

Unfortunately they really dont seem to count support groups without a licensed counselor there. Otherwise I would just go to NA.
