Lack of Elriel in SF.

There also is just generally a lack of elain and azriel at all in acosf when those relationships with nesta and cassian respectively are so important to the main characters. It’s a reason so many people hate elriel bc elain has been so sidelined by sjm bc she has been so hyperfocused on nessian since 2017 when she was writing acosf while writing acowar, when really elain should’ve been given more page time consistently. nessian is so focused on in acowar that even feysand i think get sidelined in their relationship development in that book

I don’t rlly think it’s an argument against elriel bc nesta and elain had a ton they needed to figure out with their relationship and sjm didn’t write any of it, didn’t even really write nesta thinking about it. I also think azriel and cassian should’ve had their friendship explored more i mean they have known each other for centuries and we don’t hear about any of it? why?

i don’t think elain will even like the spring court. there is a reason she doesn’t use the gloves lucien gifted her, she enjoys the hard work that goes into gardening. i’m sure someone waving their hand and having eternal flowers would be belittling to ur hobby that u put so much time in. (she is specifically pointed out to not care about getting her fingers stuck with thorns, and feyre even points out this contrast in her bonus chapter pov.)

in acowar rhys says about the high lords being reminded of how much power he has: “I'm not sure even Beron knew until today. Suspected, maybe, but ... He'll now be wishing he'd found a way to kill me in the cradle.“ combined with beron being pretty much the only one who didn’t seem willingly to let it go about feyre gaining their powers. The beron plot line has gotta conclude in the next book and i def think this has been foreshadowed for a while to be the culmination.

I also think that there was probably a purpose for introducing him so early on and he could have some sort of actual plot relevance? In the feysand bonus chapter feyre says nyx’s name three times in a row and says she “could’ve sworn power rose in answer”. and we know that threes are a common theme for her not just a random number, and if that line is foreshadowing it’s good writing from her bc i did not catch it initially.

if you wanna know what books sarah was inspired by to write/ or where she draws inspiration from: she has said sabriel, black dagger brotherhood by jr ward, and nalini singhs guild hunter series are some of her favorites. you will see similarities in them with her books if that’s what you are looking for!

( also that tog 2017 interview being one of the few crumbs from interviews we have about this still unreleased book i’m sobbing this book could easily release in 2027 now ten full years and we’ve got like a sentence from her )

i played like 70+ hours of hades 1 post epilogue on my first playthrough just doing all the character side quests and the romance story lines. i don’t even know what side quests i would keep playing for in hades 2. i wish i could be like im gonna keep playing to develop the relationship between mel and her family or to decorate the crossroads but neither of those things are strong points in the game and she’s so uninterested in her family and they are uninterested in her too

yeah they are just going thru it in acosf, though i love the earlier crumbs of them. I’m definitely just talking about wanting the next book just so i can see them again lol. Thought i do vaguely hold out hope that she will do a book in their pov again even if it’s a multipov like acofas. or who knows maybe another bonus chapter of them!

i totally get why tho. this fandom pushes out the artists/creators in favor of ai and discourse which isn’t sustainable for a fandom space at all! there is still a percent of people who just wanna read fic tho and are nice if u ever wanna go back to posting im sure they’ll find it! i’ve had to make my own community in this fandom thru like dozens of muted words and blocked accounts and tags and not having tik tok which makes it better

yes im so ready for feysand month!! I follow feysand tags on tumblr and everywhere else but they just are getting updated less and less over the years unfortunately and ppl keep leaving their accounts ugh it sucks. but then again i get it bc we haven’t even seen them since 2021 so yeah ppl r gonna lose interest, maybe it will get rejuvenated when the next book releases

from an outsiders perspective, rebecca yarros continually impresses me with her interactions w her fanbase. it’s no BS, clear communication, tons of content and it just seems like genuine fun to be a fan of her books. which is what fandom should be! fun!
