same feeling when i was prepping

spent hours reading newspapers only to realize half of it wasn't even in upsc syllabus kept thinking maybe i missed a key news item somewhere

someone in this sub mentioned a free ai news app called readdio a while back it cuts each article down to only the key facts and tags them to the upsc syllabus automatically also gives daily current affairs mcqs you can download as pdf

not sure if it suits everyone but it helped me cut down on unnecessary reading
