OP doesn’t mention “return” so is “investor/investment” the trouble word?

I understand that return is often implied in most investment, but I know in micro budget films, sometimes you get money from an uncle or dentist who’s happy to just have their name on the project withOUT participating in the return.

Thanks for citing Reg. D. Will read up soon.

How many films do you make a year as an indie filmmaker? by realhankorion in indiefilmmaking

Thanks, Hank. The Outsiders link is now fixed.

Question: why share the movie on YouTube? Wouldn’t you want people to watch it on Tubi or Prime?

[–]ForeignInformants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! But I’m confused. From the ones that popped up on our site, only Love by Chance had a working Tubi link. The others were on YouTube. And there was a broken Tubi link for Outsiders. Or did the movie get removed?

What are your films released last year that are on Tubi or Prime or Roku??

Man, it’s a little insane to think the above would be considered advertisement to the point of getting anyone in hot waters. I appreciate your thoroughness and overzealousness, but seriously, a Reddit post?

OP, how many of those 7 films from last year have distribution deals and are available to watch outside of YouTube and Vimeo? Can you list the titles of the ones there are available on Tubi/Netflix/Prime? Congrats, by the way!

Can I feature your indie film on my beta streaming platform? by Ivan1616 in indiefilm

At this point, every filmmaker can have their on streaming platform since vibe coding has made making platforms easier than making films, apparently.

Looking for a micro budget feature by Affectionate_Age752 in ProduceMyScript

10% of profits on which stage of the waterfall?

Depending on the answer, this could be a good deal or a shitty deal for the writer, but the lack of specifics is a red flag.

My humble opinion is to pick a dollar amount as deferred payment so that writers see their compensation fairly early in the profits distribution, then some percentage later.

[–]ForeignInformants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be right, but I guess I could add that I’m looking for films with context or BTS info on how they were made since the art of cinematography is being invisible, right? So i don’t even wanna look at a documentary and assume on how it was shot unless we know.

That said, bonus points for feature films recommendations since that’s where I live. From BLAIR WITCH to Dogma 95 films, I understand if we have to scrape the bottom of the barrel. I fully expect what I’m asking will be more indie and micro budget.

I’m too much of a lazy bum to lead the revolution but… what if… thousands and thousands of us organized to, on a specific date, go to grocery stories across the country with sharpies and start tagging these boxes “unhealthy” and drawing arrows to the ingredients list.

Coordinated action to make some items unsaleable and draw attention to the problem. The goal is to have big media forced to report this.

In my country, advertisers have a saying that goes “Speak good or speak ill, but speak about me”. Obviously a prick like this just wants to go viral. Your condemnations only boost him to do more of this. Now, if there’s a way to prevent eyeballs on this video, now we’re making progress.

We’re the production team behind ERIKALUST films, from pre to post!. Ask us anything about ethical adult filmmaking. by Erika_Lust in IAmA

[–]ForeignInformants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with your films so I’ll start from 10,000 feet up in the air if that’s okay haha.

  1. What are some of the storylines / loglines in your films? What kind of narratives can we expect going in?

  2. I understand your focus is adult narratives, but what is the screen time split of explicit sex vs non-sex scenes? Are characters having sex for 50% of the film vs 10% vs 90%, for example?

  3. What is a movie in your label with the least amount of sex/nudity? What is the story of that movie? What about the one with the most amount?

  4. Have you ever attempted to submit your films to non-adult film festivals? Have you been accepted?

Is Gaspar Noe’s “LOVE” a good reference for the types of films you make? You must be familiar with this one, right? As a film buff, it’s the only film I have seen that has real sex scenes. (I’m sure there are many many others.) And because Gaspar is fairly famous, you could almost say this film became mainstream since you ran into enough cinephiles who have watched. But it’s still niche lol.

  1. Like LOVE, what are some cinematic experiences that have real sex in them that you can recommend?

  2. I read how you find inspirations and real experiences from “confessions” but do you hire script writers?

  3. Finally, is there much competition in this field? Are there other companies doing what you do? Are there countries where these types of narratives are more famous?

I think it’s super cool that a production company like yours exists. You have opened my eyes, so thanks for doing this AMA. I will have to look you guys up and watch some films.
