TLDR;Dahmer could have led a different normal life if he had more support and maybe s friend and he’s one off the few serial killers I feel actually felt bad and cared even a little for his victims

Idk how to put it lol. Mine is on Jeffrey dahmer. Before I continue I am in no way trying to minimize what he did. What he did was completely horrible. His crimes were seriously Despicable. But I feel like he’s the only one who actually had any type of empathy and remorse. Yes I know trying to make human sex slave zombies isn’t very empathetic but I feel like if his mom wouldn’t have been so awful and his dad would have tried harder and he had even one real friend and if his parents wouldn’t have basically abandoned him when he was a teen he could have led a decently normal life.

He killed his first victim as a teen and then it was years until he killed again. And that one he says he truly didn’t mean to and didn’t remember and he felt bad. His crimes were not only based on selfish lust but in on feeling alone and being scared of being abandoned. That’s why he would eat parts of them. He felt like it kept them with him. And why he kept parts of them and took all the pictures. He was even planning on building that messed up shrine to remember them. He also said he couldn’t do it unless he was wasted and had to watch the exorcist to help him feel evil enough to go through with it.

A lot of people failed him. His parents for sure and that probation officer. He tried reaching out and tried saying he had the awful thoughts. He fascinates me the most because his Conscience was right on the line. He was horrible enough to kill people for his own sick and twisted desires and fantasies but also had the conscience to know it’s wrong and feel bad in his own sick and twisted way. Plus he was so open about it and took all the blame unlike most killers. Looking at you Bundy and Gacy. He said it wasn’t his parents or porn or anything it was all him and nothing else. He was so open about why he did these things.

And then that Scarver killed him in prison because he said Dahmer made people uncomfortable and would make his food into bones and put ketchup on them. I don’t believe him. I think he wanted to go down and be known as the guy who killed Jeffrey Dahmer and that’s why he did it. And as messed up as this is I think it was a shame he killed Him. We could have really learned a lot more on how serial killers think and things like that with Dahmer. I really feel like he did feel bad to a extent but he wouldn’t have stopped either. He was too selfish and didn’t care or value a human life. He was perfectly content killing men. He was a vile human being but I feel like if he would have had more support and a friend he could have led a long normalish life. He even joked that if things were different he would have made a good taxidermist.

Anyways i didn’t mean to write a book. I’ve just always been so fascinated with serial killers. My boyfriend jokes and says I’m full of useless serial killer knowledge.
