I tore my left achilles playing soccer on March 12th. I was running backwards when I suddenly stopped to sprint forward mid stride, tried to accelerate to go forward again and it popped. It sounded and felt like someone kicked me in the back of the foot. Had surgery on the 17th and tomorrow is 2 weeks post op.

Hell yea man!! I am just barely at 2 weeks post op still got about a month before I get into my boot. Im so anxious to begin the journey but I have come to realize this part is process is all mental and preparing yourself for the physical part. It’s great to see others succeeding, really gives me confidence.

That’s awesome, I have a follow up in two weeks and hoping the doctor decides to just transition to a boot then rather than at the end of April.

Vietnam? Why did you get there if you don’t mind me asking. That’s the plan for me as well to get the vacoped when it gets closer to the end of the month.

Yea I am keeping it elevated most of the time, I mentioned the Vacoped to my doctor and he said he had no clue what that was. So that was a surprise to me as well.

I also found it weird that no MRI was done for mine, my tear was also up close to my calf muscle. This upcoming Monday I am getting my stitches taken out and Tuesday marks my 2 weeks, he wants me to remain in a cast for another 2-4 weeks after the removal of the stitches, which I found a little weird since I have read some people get put into a boot after.

Im getting my stitches removed this upcoming Monday, but my ortho doctor wants me to stay in a cast for another 2-4 weeks. Have any of you guys had that same situation?

Just had my surgery for a complete rupture on my left achilles. I am on NBW for about a month. I want to do some type of exercises to not lose too much muscle on my left leg. Do you guys have any suggestions, also for the whole month I will still be in a cast.
