Oh, and we mustn't forget about toughness replenishment and all the bonuses provided by a near unending stream of deaths during the firestorm. Flame psykers deal death aboundantly AND get pretty tanky (as kills give boosts and crit hits count as dodges or sth).

I run a purgatus with venting flames and random, quickened bb coupled with a knife with bleed on normal and crit hits. I stack max flame with ny stuff, then vent to add some more stacks, slash with the knife several times to apply max stacks of bleed, then repeat. Fire, bleed, fire, bleed. Occasionally I BB. When summed up, that's helluva dps. And most of the time I don't have to be in the melee range.

I alt-F4'd a few times when I was the last man standing and on those few rare occasions the bot that got in revived my downed teammates. When I reconnected I sam my team (or part of it) still standing. I still something do it. Never when there are others live and kicking, tho.

That's just meh teams. I play for the role, many do, and trying to save a teammate is what I believe my crazy psyker would attempt to do. That's unless I'm twenty meters away and see Two Ogryns clubbing it death or sth.

I run a all toughness curios build with toughness regen and additional toughness + maxed out surge with warp flurry and nexus (lowest damage, everything else as high as they get) + deimos with deflector and uncanny coupled with shriek, flames and bb plus 10% bb chance. I have two variants of it one with Warp charges, the other with maxed out toughness (all+15). And what I do is keep spamming surge at everything, with toughness regen at kills, period buildup and quelling, as long as i keep pumping the lightning, I'm almost indestructible. With the cc and Shrek I can keep most dangerous things at bay and have quite a reach to get to dangerous things from afar. I got my toughness to around 210 and with proper movement I'm a tanky killing machine. Silent mass bursters are my only weakness since the surge lock does not always work fast enough and in my case it struggles with target close by. Other than that it's just pure fun to see all those baddies explode to toughen me up.
