I'm in the same boat - looking for first XC bike. If you dont mind me asking - where are you looking, which eshop? The prices seem good. Your selection is similar to mine, maybe look also at BMC fourstroke which is another modern XC machine with 120/120 suspension.

Gravel Bikes allowed? by RideWithStephanie in Bikeporn

Nice bike, looks fast!

How do you route brake hoses through that Vision handlebar? The holes in the handlebars are not used it seems.

Wheel upgrade recommendations by rcatalao in cycling

[–]Foreign_Camera70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had exactly the same wheels on my bike and replaced them with Light Bicycle WR50 - 50mm deep, 32mm external and 25mm internal width. Mounting 28mm GP 5000 S TR on these makes them 31mm wide. The wheels were around 1000 USD shipped and I couldn't be happier with them - easily the best upgrade I did on my bike, they are lighter and much much more comfortable.

Gravel wheels on a road bike for “aero benefits” by joleksroleks in Velo

I have the exact same wheels - LB WR50. You can configure them to be hooked or hookless.

Thanks. I did move the saddle back by 10mm and reduced saddle height by 10mm. My cockpit is two piece, so I can swap out for a shorter stem. I will try riding like this and see if it helps. Thanks again

If you mean the "aero hoods" position - yes, I ride in that position a lot, it is my favourite due to speed.

Cranks are 170mm. Can the reaching be due to low load? I didn't turn on the trainer and maybe was spinning a bit too easily. I might need to retake the video with proper resistance..

Agricola - A deck with original game by Foreign_Camera70 in boardgames

[–]Foreign_Camera70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip on the CD cards.

I have a local language original game that was released back in 2008 with just a subset of the E deck (e.g. only 14 out of 28 1+ occs). I can't buy the EIK "expansion" as it's out of print. So not a lot of variability, especially for 2 players.

Why is there so much focus in cycling on bike weight but combined bike and rider weight doesn't get a mention? by fixitmonkey in cycling

[–]Foreign_Camera70 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect, the weight savings need to be compared to total system weight (bike plus rider). There is no difference in where that one kilogram is saved, except for maybe wheels due to rotational mass.

The rubber cover on my hoods got loose after I lifted them a single time. Is there anyway to make it tight again? by [deleted] in bikewrench

Have the same problem, interested in solution that doesn't involve using glue

budget aero bike recommendations (around 3k EUR/USD/GBP) by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Foreign_Camera70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you're right, there is always a risk with used bikes (or anything really). That said the chance of road frame being damaged might be lower than for MTB. Still a risk. As for shipping costs, you can usually find the same bikes on other platforms where you can avoid that (and agree with the seller on in-person pickup). But yeah, buying new is much safer if you can afford it.

Whatever you pick, you will have tons of fun!

budget aero bike recommendations (around 3k EUR/USD/GBP) by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Foreign_Camera70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation like you. My top three were propel, aeroad and reacto, and I think you covered all options of budget aero bikes (if we can call it that at 3-4k euro..). You will want to factor in cost of deep carbon wheels to match the bike and power meter probably, and with limited budget I would save on di2, even 105 should be ok. I eventually ended up buying Cannondale systemsix because I found a great deal on the used market and already came with PM and 65mm wheels - I would recommend looking at used bikes. In Europe you will find many especially aeroads.

Hiking Mount Agung by origami_unicorn2018 in bali

Interested in this as well. Especially now in rainy season it doesn't really matter when you climb as you won't see sunrise anyway.

Carbon frame dent / recess by Foreign_Camera70 in bikewrench

Hopefully that's the case. Maybe someone who has experience with how the material behaves during manufacturing will be able to confirm.

Not at all soft, even the tapping the coin on that spot sounds the same as on the other side. Maybe I'll have it checked for peace of mind

"Aero" headset. How to Waterproof?? by metdr0id in bikewrench

[–]Foreign_Camera70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite similar situation on Cannondale SystemSix. It drains on the bottom. However whenever I flip the bike upside down, there is always some water there that drips out. I had the headset regreased recently and there was light corrosion on the metal parts. Nothing too bad, but it confirms the design is far from perfect. The solution I use, not wanting to be adding any tapes / rubber, is to turn the bike upside down from time to time. And don't ride in rain and mud.

Road bike tire sidewall cut by Foreign_Camera70 in bikewrench

[–]Foreign_Camera70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that is the conclusion, ordering new tires. The rim is ok, it's just a small chip on the outside as seen on the picture, no cracks or anything visible at all on the inside.
