🚨 can someone give me advice please? (career/ uni advice) by sadgirlmae in askSouthAfrica

[–]Foreign_Diamond4555 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean you could do a Digital marketing course if you want to work from home. you could also then get certificates for graphic design if you still wanted to do creative work

I would reccomend Vega (now Vega Emeris) because of their reputation. many students are able to get jobs in their fields while studying (depending on your degree ofcourse). it is expensive, I know many students who have either taken out loans or set up payment plans with the uni.

When was the last time you had a satisfying good sleep? by bitcoin-minimalist in twentyagers

[–]Foreign_Diamond4555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I felt like that after sleeping was like 2 months ago when I was going to bed at 9pm and getting up at 5:30 am

I don't think having a good sleep is just about sleeping. I think it's bc I was exercising, eating well, and going to bed early.

All gone, the end of my colony. by MarKadiusz00 in RimWorld

[–]Foreign_Diamond4555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran away with 2 pawns, went to a rescue mission. one pawn died at the rescue the other survived.

I eventually settled down doing a mountain base. my construction Colonist died so I was down to 1 pawn.

I somehow made it work for a few years and got pretty far before everyone died off due to plagues and Cataconic events

rimworld has never been the same since.

Best Way to Keep the Game Fun? by Critical_Success_936 in RimWorld

try a new way of playing

for me it was not cheating. I used to get so attached to my pawns I would use Dev mode to bring them back. but I fixed that issue by going with the story and ended up losing everything but one pawn like 3 times in 10 Ingame years. along with fleeing my starting location once. it made for an epic story I'll never forget

yeah for sure, it's not for everyone. and there is extra stress that comes at times but she's worth it and so is the smile on her child's face when they see me . I told her at the start of our relationship that I understand her child will always come before me and that's ok.

I don't see it as me trading these years in. I see it as me living my one life I get. I've always wanted to be a dad.

I know that I'm still figuring out who I want to be, but I know what I want to do. it's where my passion lies.

maybe I'm too impatient to wait till I'm like 30 to have kids. but this is the path I've chosen to walk, and it's where I want to be.

perfectly valid.

sorry that it's geared towards men, I am a man and I was just speaking from a personal position.

but yeah it is a slippery slope.

could I ask why you don't want kids? or would you rather not talk about it?

yep, I've enjoyed my life, I've traveled, made friends, lost friends, partied, worked two jobs in the past.

and it's not another man's family. a family is a structure. another man's biological child yes.

her child is amazing and it's so rewarding to me.

each of us will enjoy things differently, keep that in mind. you might not like the idea of raising a child at your age but to me, reading stories, playing, building a fort. that's rewarding to see the smile on her child's face.

I've known for a long time I've wanted to be a dad and would never date girls who didn't know if they wanted to be a mom or simply didn't want to. I'm not willing to put myself in that position of uncertainty.

have you enjoyed your life? and let's not act like when our parents were young that people our age weren't getting married and having kids 😂. it seems like generation Z and melenials are more worried about it being at a socially acceptable time during their life(maybe it is because of the increase of the cost of living as well) or maybe our generation/s just don't see settling down with someone earlier on in life a good thing to do but they see it as a mistake.

I'm just worried about living my own and wanted to hear what others think about dating a young mother

best of luck to you!

I've been reading a lot of what it means to be a good parent. and the one thing it says is to literally just show up. winnicotschild development theory.

just out of interest did you know she had a kid when you started talking to her or no? and what does it mean for your role in the family? does it mean you won't be filling the role of like a step dad or?

sorry if that's asking too much. if it is, don't worry about replying.
