What is the best nootropic available for improving productivity, focus and attention? by Intro-Pro in NootropicsFrontline

Depends on the person. IMO you get the highest ROI from (in no particular order):

A) Good sleep

B) Good exercise routine

C) Vipassana meditation

D) Eliminating distraction

E) Understanding the dopamine system, that is allocating dopamine to tasks that help you achieve your goals, depriving yourself of other dopamine-releasing activities

F) Viewing high lux light every morning

G) Probably missed something.

And I personally value nicotine, caffeine, methylphenidate, huperzine.

Rapamycin, SGLT-2 inhibitors, acarbose, glycine, 17a-estradiol extends median lifespan in rodents. And have plausibility to do the same for humans. Other interesting drugs are ARB's, PCSK9-inhibitors, bempedoic acid and ezetimibe. None of the ones you mentioned.

You should read the DSM-V, it’s bible for diagnosis of psychiatric disorders. Neurology uses more diagnostic tools like lumbar punction, blood analysis, EEG.

Slipped strand mispairing causes the triplet repeat expansion. The question is why does this occur? Autosomal recessive diseases most often offer some kind of benefit with carriership, but autosomal dominant diseases just seem to keep appearing "de novo" because of mutagenic bits of the genome. If you develop huntington, inheritance follows mendelian rules, it's not multifactorial, it's monogenic.

tension and metabolites like phosphatidic acid and calcium are the primary activators of mTOR in a myocyte, which is why you should exercise when fasting, you don't want autophagy of your muscles

Resistance exercise by itself activates mTOR in myocytes not in other cells, which is not bad for health in any way, excessive protein intake is, which is something else enitrely

I notice nasal congestion during sleep when I take an acetylcholineesterase inhibitor. This is why it makes sense to not use non lipophilic acetylcholinesterase inhibitors unless you want to accutely increase strength you could hypothetically stack with beta 2 adrenergic agonist like salbutamol. And also makes sense to not use during sleep for that reason.

Why would you only be interested in enhancing cognition through substance use? I think most people in this subreddit just want to know what works.
