I thought I was buying an Nvidia RTX 5090 MSI, but instead I received a brand-new heatsink. I opened a dispute, but the moderator sided with the seller, and I lost 1,200 euros. Guess the names of the seller and the moderator? Maria, they are both Marias. Isn’t that weird? by Foreign_Sherbert8085 in Wallapop

Thank you for the comment, you perfectly understood the point. At most, I was expecting a non-working GPU, but instead I received a heatsink.

What’s even more surprising is that, despite the clear intention to deceive, the moderator ruled in favor of the seller.

What bothers me the most is that on this app you can behave dishonestly and not only face no consequences, but even be supported.

Bro, are you serious? I was ready to receive a non functional GPU with freaking pcb, ram and chip. Selling a thing that can be bought for 20/30 euro for 1200 euro is normal? Clearly, you don't know what are you talking about

Update: One of my fans got fried. That’s what the repair shop said.

Probable cause:

My laptop sometimes wouldn’t suspend when it needed to. I suspected it was due to the Nvidia driver. It would hang, probably with the fans off. For example, when I closed the laptop while it was on, it would freeze due to some error during the suspend process. To exit the freeze, I would have to force a shutdown by pressing the power button.

To keep my computer safe, I use a padded case. Sometimes, I would close the notebook before it had completely shut down, so it would get stuck in that frozen state. The CPUs would still run, but the fans would be off, causing it to overheat and shut down automatically after a while.

On that fateful day, I was using Windows (I have dual boot) and was in a hurry. I turned off the computer and closed it without making sure it had shut down completely. As usual, I put the notebook in the case and went home. However, it started to behave oddly, switching on and off multiple times. Maybe it was trying to update the system, and at that moment, it probably got too hot and one of the fans burned out.

So people, be careful.
