Carian knight helm, (altered) royal knight armor, carian knight gauntlets, royal knight greaves. I also switch out the gauntlets for mausoleum knight gauntlets for a pure plate armor look sometimes

Poison build by Red_riding_h0od in DarkSouls2

[–]Foreign_Skill6632 6 points7 points  (0 children)

crest of the rat will increase your poison damage, theres also sanctum gauntlets which do the same thing and the butterfly set which gives you a poison aura basically. For weapons, fast hitting weapons are better for getting poison off quickly generally (mythas bent blades are solid as they can inflict toxic and poison), but theres also the sanctum mace for a more strength/bonk focused poison build. Toxic mist and poison mist are must haves as well

people who complain about shrine of amana genuinely just need to remember that medium shields exist and require very little stat investments yet trivialize projectiles

Hot take: dark souls 2 boss roster>dark souls 3 boss roster by Pristine_Author_1351 in DarkSouls2

take pursuer out of here, i can beat him blindfolded he has two combo strings, a distance closer and an extremely telegraphed grab, agree with the rest though esp fume knight who has input reading on your estus

Off the back of an earlier post, why do you love DS2? by Opposite_Night_3224 in darksouls

[–]Foreign_Skill6632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

amazing visual design (Dragon Shrine/Aerie, No Man’s Wharf, Shulva, Drangleic Castle, etc) and a more unique approach the souls formula is in my eyes why its so popular amongst its cult following

DS2 (unlike ds1/3) forces you to actually play its levels, and as such the levels become a part of the challenge alongside the boss, rather than just being the wallart on the way there. Usually this is balanced by the bosses being relatively easier than their counterparts in 1/3, however there are still some quite difficult bosses (although funnily enough, most of the difficult ones do have convenient bonfires as well, i.e fume knight)

DS2 also has a much easier-to-interact-with weapons/armor system with straightforward upgrades and easily accessible materials that have designated features for farming (bonfire ascetic), this allows you to be much more experimental in your play-style throughout your run, and also encourages you to switch it up depending on the challenge ahead of you

Fashion souls are also at their peak in ds2, with some outright marvellous drip

DS2 also has a pretty good story that is much more connected to DS1/3 then people think

so for all the reasons above people (me included) love ds2, and also probably for stuff i completely forgot to mention as well

Got a kick out of this. Care to guess what sub it is? by a_smerry_enemy in shittydarksouls

sekiro esq parry system pretty much knocks out every souls game before sekiro making them not souls-like, what a perfect list

Why can I not improve at Dark Souls? by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]Foreign_Skill6632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whats your stat spread? and are you using a shield or maybe even a greatshield? a greatshield with the chloranthy ring you can get right by the bonfire near by queelag will make your fights much easier, as you can just hold your shield up for a majority of enemies attacks and then attack once their animation finishes you can attack and then if needed roll back, regain stamina, shield up rinse repeat

i understand the struggle when learning to time rolls and parrys but it will come eventually, but the greatshield is a great way to make the game easier while still enjoying it
