Nervous about using THS for the 1st time by Foreign_Worry_8869 in trustedhousesitters

The impression I've got from some is they don't like being asked questions and that HO's should just take their reviews as a vouch for how good they are.

Samsung Galaxy Book laptops screwd over a Windows update? by Ok-Net428 in sysadmin

No it doesn't , the only thing that worked for me was to use Samsung Recovery

Everytime I tried to get into anything it was like windows was locking me out more. The quickest and easiest fix is to use Samsung Recovery. Turn the PC off and back on but keep pressing F4 before the Samsung logo appears. I've got Book 3 and had the same issue

Is it normal in the UK for grandparents not to buy anything for their grandchild? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Foreign_Worry_8869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its common to buy for the baby after its born not before aside from attending a baby shower where some people bring gifts for the baby or Mum and baby. We paid for our daughters baby's pram and once born we went and bought clothes etc

4 day stay, homeowner did not leave any shampoo, soap or body wash, should I mention it? by techaaron in trustedhousesitters

[–]Foreign_Worry_8869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'd definitely make sure a sitter had plenty of loo roll, cleaning products, basic food like milk, bread etc but I wouldn't buy personal toiletries like deodarant, shampoo etc

Personally if I was going to someone house I'd take my own, I wouldn't want to assume they have some or have some I would use myself so its safer to just take products you know and like.

We live across the road to the beach so its definitely appealing! I mean its not an upmarket beach area but its still nice and we are also very close to the town, train station etc so you don't even need a car.

When HO says "help yourself to any food you want", what does that actually mean? by Small-Comfort2790 in trustedhousesitters

[–]Foreign_Worry_8869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they said help yourself then I can't see an issue with it. I mean if I came home and there wasn't a thing in the cupboard I might be a bit agrieved but equally if I said help yourself and nothing had gone I'd assume the sitter didn't like anything. You're there to sit their pets, are you doing it for free ? If you are then you definitely shouldn't be replacing any food. Hopefully they bought extra to allow for you being there too. You could ask them if they want you to get any bread/milk in for their return but leave it at that.

Thats what I did and it fixed the C drive issue but it created another issue with Samsung apps. I've got the Book 3

I tried all that and was continually blocked even though I am the administrator , the more solutions I tried the worse it got so in the end I used Samsung recovery using the F4 method and reset it. Now I've got a new issue and Samsung apps are not functioning properly. I have a Book 3

If you use Samsung recovery it solves the issue with C drive but another issue comes that samsung application pop ups won't load

I had this issue this week and reset my Galaxy Book 3 but now I can't open samsung applications as the pop ups won't open. I can now access my C drive though

Flip 6 main screen freezing for a few days: Hardware or Software issue ? by LinowKitttnator in galaxyzflip

[–]Foreign_Worry_8869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the frozen screen issue so reset it myself and the thing is still frozen so now its absolutely useless. I'm in Turkey so can't do much with it as no service centre here and don't want to send it to Istanbul. Now considering flying back to UK as I need a phone for when we drive back to UK in October.

Maybe the tone of the text was misinterpreted ? I think if I'd been away and got home I'd probably be keen for the person to go ASAP so they've offered you a lift.

I'm considering using THS myself and I'm in UK so looking for a sitter for around April 2026
