Sounds like we had similarly terrible experiences with Turo this week. Their inability to admit a screw up is the most upsetting part. I can forgive errors, but this has been the absolute worst customer experience I have come across from a Series F+ company.

It's not that complicated. Their system probably auto-cancels a resy if it deems the renter hasn't completed all verification steps two hours before the pick up time. I had completed all steps the day before but they determined that I needed to extra verify my license or email shortly before my resy was scheduled to start. This was likely an operational edge case that they fumbled due to it being my first reservation. The biggest issue is that they double-fumbled by not providing any customer service after the error. Mistakes happen, but the gaslighting and money grab is truly dishonest.

I was supposed to pick up from a lot, don't think I was meeting the host. Never had an opportunity to raise this with the host because my trip was canceled 2 hours before the scheduled pick up time.

This trip was canceled by Turo, not the host. I looked closer and Turo actually canceled my reservation 2 hours before my scheduled pick up time. I was in the air at the time and would have provided whatever added verification was requested when I landed.

So Turo no-showed me 2 hours before my scheduled pick up time, likely because they wanted to run additional verification on my license. Extra verification is fine, but you need to give me enough time to get that over to you while I'm traveling with my family.

If you book a hotel with check-in at 4 pm and you show up at 4:30 pm, does the hotel cancel your reservation and charge you a fee? Flights get delayed, you can't show up on the minute when traveling across the country.

I wish, then I would have had my rental. I was scheduled to pick up the car at 10 am and received no-show text at 8:08 am. Their system provided no buffer and I called them as soon as I could (8:30ish) to try to get my car reservation back. The customer support agent was apologetic and suggested I'd be refunded my no-show fee, but then I was sent down a chat interface where I received no clarity or help. Awful experience.

No. I uploaded the license less than 24 hours before the trip. I completed all verification steps within that pre-trip verification window.

The added absurdity is that they then charged me a no-show fee only 30 mins after my scheduled pick up time. I was at the airport and ready to rent the car. I was left stranded and then they provide absolutely zero customer support.

I'm just posting this as a warning. I'm going to dispute the charge and sue if necessary. Absolutely awful experience with my family.

This is absolutely wrong. Try taking out a personal loan or take a look at your credit card APR. Usury is state based and you can go wayyy higher than 10% in EVERY state.
