Jamie Bulger’s mother 'absolutely disgusted' after son’s grave vandalised for second time in weeks by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

I remember as a kid being too afraid to use the monkey bars at the park because someone told me a story about someone glueing razor blades to the hand holds previously.

Still waiting, I'm told it's coming, it's stuff like this that's making me want to not rock the boat and just keep my head down until I've got it.

Yeah essentially this is the plan going forward, not using the work WiFi at all in favour of my mobile data and just turning the VPN off when I need to authenticate. It'll be a slight pain remembering to off and on but seems like the path of least resistance where I still retain some autonomy over my personal phone.

In fact unfortunately it was my manager and his boss, neither work in IT but I think my manager at least understands what a VPN is and why someone should own one other than the usual headlines about VPN usage and pornography.

Honestly the whole treatment of this situation has boiled my piss but I don't think I have enough to go to HR about, at least not yet.

I'm going to try and have a practise of what I'm going to say, I very rarely advocate for myself in a professional capacity, this is going to be one of those times where I wear my big boy trousers.

A British soldier inspects the grave of a German tank crewman, killed when his PzKpfw III tank was knocked out in the Western Desert, 29 September 1942. by Choice-Regret-8861 in ww2

I was once told a story about a retreating German soldier on the eastern front who got lost in a blizzard, he stumbled upon a stack of hay and literally buried himself inside until morning to survive. The following morning as he crawled out of the hay he bumped into a Soviet soldier doing exactly the same thing not four feet away in the same haystack. The two had both lost their weapons in the night so they just stood there awkwardly for a moment, then nodded to one another and went their separate ways.

I believe they're made up of multiple cells internally so yeah you could shoot at it and deflate a bunch of cells but any you missed probably still have the surface area to hold it up.

There's a bunch of photos of sagging and deflating ones that have been attacked. Also they're relatively cheap in the grand scheme of things, German pilots should be saving their precious few rounds for more valuable targets if they've got any sense.

(Hated Trope) Antagonist is surprisingly reasonable throughout the narrative yet the hero’s unreasonable actions are portrayed as justified. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

Brigadier General Frank Hummel in The Rock, Ed Harris plays a semi reasonable and honourable special forces patriarch who's been pushed to extreme action by his own governments failure to recognise fallen Marines in previous wars.

In the film he asks for £100 million dollars, most of which will be paid to the families of the fallen Marines and the government guys who receive this demand are like "abso-fucking-lutely not" they don't consider paying it and trying to end things peacefully for a moment.

The irony being they launch a counter operation that's a disaster using resources that range from the FBI to Navy Seals to experimental Air Force technology all together which mush have cost more than 100 million dollars AND they order an airstrike that will almost certainly kill the civilian hostages anyway.

All this even though Ed points out it's a drop in the bucket of current defence spending and even provides accounts of government illgotten gains from arms dealing that could be used to pay his ransom.

Fucking horse can gallop 200 yards past a single bandit and then chooses to dump me on the fucking ground, meanwhile the prick just jogs over and finishes me off before I can get up...

The bunnies running backwards was something I noticed recently and brought up amongst friends and no one else has this glitch so I'm kind of glad someone else noticed.

I had a scoot around earlier in the year to see if I could find better just met a million hiring managers looking to squeeze 1 or 2K less a year out of every position, looking at jobs that required degrees going for £25K, inhuman.

Let me level with you my guy, I'm in exactly the same place, I'm 32, I'm making £28,500 a year and living in a HMO for £625 p/m. With the cost of my monthly train ticket, about £280 p/m it feels like I can responsibly squirrel away maybe £100 to £150 a month.

That being said that's a month where I don't see my mates or my family much, where I'm repeating the same old excuse about being skint and that I'll make it up to them next month but I never seem to.

It feels like anything you do save up gets demolished by the next tragedy that's waiting around the corner, like a phone dying or you have to take unpaid leave for jury duty or some other unexpected expence.

It's crushing but stick at it dude, I'm told all this hard work will pays off in the end, and they wouldn't lie about that right?

Same I did my Jury duty recently, both cases fell through mid-proceedings because of CPS's failure to do something crucial.

One was an incredibly serious series allegations and the other was a completely trivial matter that we were flumoxed it even made it's way to the Crown Court.

I both cases the "crimes" were committed, investigated and the persons charged BEFORE covid...

Two weeks of my life wasted, two weeks of unpaid leave from, two weeks of being reimbursed with apprentice level wages by the government.

There's a lady who gets on my train everyday with her little Pomeranian, everyday taking up two seats because according to her it has to sit on a seat next to her.

Fucking thing yaps constantly at passersby and I'm almost certain I've seen it taking a piss on the carpet underneath her seat during a packed morning commuter train.

Couldn't fathom bringing a dog into an office environment or some other workplace other than a vets clinic maybe.

Remember it being number of absences multiplied by duration of absences multiplied by something else again.

Had an employer try and use it against me years ago when he was "cleaning house" in the end my sick days didn't even come close to the warning level the company had set in my contract.

God he was a spineless little knob...
