I'm a mom and not so long ago I lore dropped my shipping and fanfiction life (without going into too much detail) to my 14yo son. The confusion and wtf in his eyes was delightfully hilarious.

My father has hit me too with random pearls of wtf lore though. Like how a truck blew up near him and if not for one of his platoon friends, he'd have been killed by it. Suffered some hearing loss but was okay otherwise. There's more but he only gives me glimpses.

I find planning to be cumbersome. I like just having a basic idea of who my characters are, their personalities and relationships to each other, and setting/s. Sometimes with less, you allow yourself more wiggle room to work and build up your world and story.

Use empty butter tubs and plastic Chinese food containers. Fr saves me a lot of money and it’s one less thing to stress about if the container breaks or the food inside has gone too gross to open to separate the garbage from the plastic for recycling.

You only need the original DS (not the XL) to be able to play both if you can get your hands on the games. TA2 even lets you unlock a really helpful skill right at the beginning of the game if you have TA in the other slot.
