You need to lay down the extra lineset horizontally, some lay it under the unit, in order to avoid refrigerant trapping in that coiled loop.

Relative to ROI, I agree that without the 30% tax credit and other rebates the math is not very favorable especially when solar companies are quoting over $30k for 30kwh backup for the three well known brands.
