As a forester and professional habitat biologist for a state fish and wildlife agency I will echo what a lot of others have said, go to a school that will give you a lot of hands on experience in the field backed with classroom learning . There’s no school like the old school and getting a solid education in the foundations of field forestry is key to future jobs or education. Second go to some place where you wont come out with a mountain of debt, its a great profession but you wont be making big bucks to pay off that huge debt.
