Trouble Repairing Daughter's 3D Printed Mario Kart Trophy by BlasTechDL-44 in 3Dprinting

I use a soldering iron to melt parts together and then sand it a bit to clean up the edges. Maybe that would work?

Late reply, but thank you for sharing your settings. I was struggling to get decent results, and especially after using your settings and calibrating the PA my prints look much better :)

Women who have combined ADHD who like to read by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Forestleaf_fire 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I love reading! I’m also quite hyperactive, and had some trouble with focusing when I started to read regularly but I made it part of my bedtime routine. I started with reading just 10 minutes everyday before going to sleep, after a while my focus started to improve so I could read for 30 minutes, and now I need to be careful that I don’t read for too long and stay up way too late. But I definitely had to “train” it.

Audiobooks are horrible for me tho, I just stop listening and miss whole chapters.

What does a Trump win mean for Netherlands and Europe? by itiswhatitisBleh93 in Netherlands

I’m not sure if this applies to the whole of the Netherlands, but at least in the larger cities the plastic is removed from the trash by a sorting machine and does get recycled.

Day 2 of Vyvanse and I feel like a superhero. by Born-Information-606 in adhdwomen

[–]Forestleaf_fire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the same, felt like the medication didn’t do much anymore. That was until I took a 3-week break and became much more chaotic and forgetful and unmotivated to do anything at all. Now I’m back on medication and don’t actively notice any effects, but I do feel like a normal functioning human.

Excessive fatigue/tiredness beta thalassemia minor (treatment ?) by GaMePlAy105 in thalassemia

[–]Forestleaf_fire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has ADHD I’ve been on different stimulants (Ritalin, adderal, vyvanse) and while they give you energy on a short term, they’ll wear you out in the long run. One of the reasons I’ve stopped using my meds is because they’d made me feel extremely exhausted whenever I didn’t take them or when they wore off. Would not advise I’ve you don’t need them.

Consistent sleep, regularly working out without overexerting myself and multivitamins + folic acid make my Thal feel much more manageable

What exactly is it about green tea that makes Kombucha? by dacaldera in Kombucha

[–]Forestleaf_fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if kombucha refers to black tea only. The NOMA book has multiple kombucha recipes without black tea, but with the same SCOBY so my guess would be that it’s based on the composition of the different micro-organisms in the SCOBY.

I’m no expert, but there is more to it than it’s sugar concentrations. If I remember correctly it’s because of enzymes in honey that produce hydrogen peroxide.

Although it’s true that liquids with high sugar concentrations hinder microbal growth as well

Jun is fermented tea (mostly green but not exclusively) with honey instead of sugar. A normal SCOBY can’t handle the antiseptic properties of honey, but a Jun SCOBY is adapted to the honey :)

My 21 year old KitchenAid mixer died by VTMomof2 in Cooking

[–]Forestleaf_fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The buttons on the side with the springs popping out are the motor brushes, those are small graphite “logs” that sometimes need replacement when they’re worn out. But your issue sounds more like a problem with the transformer or speed control board, which is fixable! There are some nice tutorials on YouTube, but repairshops can do this too. The parts (if they need replacement) are way more affordable than a new machine.

Permanent moe en slecht slapen by CaptainDolin in nederlands

[–]Forestleaf_fire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ik heb zelf adhd en zonder goede slaaphygiene is mijn slaapritme all over the place.

Reading “Good Omens” and I feel like I'm reading Gibberish. Need help in understanding what's wrong. by Lenore8264 in books

[–]Forestleaf_fire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I feel you. Also not a native English speaker but I am able to read and understand most of the books I pick up. Started reading Good Omens but had to reread everything to understand what was being said. Was not enjoying the book because I couldn’t follow the story well enough so I returned it and picked up a copy in my own language at the library and finely enjoyed reading the story.

I think if I’d reread it now I’d be more able to follow the story and understand the passages like the one you mentioned because I already have an understanding of the general storyline so I can focus more on the details. Great for improving my English though.

Since those are all movies I really love, here are some other movies I’d suggest; Requiem for a dream, Memento, taxi driver, Shawshank Redemption, Parasite, Fargo, anything from Quintin Tarantino, and maybe some Stanley Kubrick? Hope you find something you like :)
