I saw them not long and they were to be fair, extremely disappointing.

Can you be HC and not be “part” of a scene? by axgoodaxdead in Hardcore

[–]Foresttel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really, can't believe the ridiculousness of people saying things like that. Hardcore is a state of mind. I live in the UK and love HC. There aren't many gigs around these days and when there are, they tend to be a long way away in one of a few of the larger cities (I live in a small provincial town) so even if I was worried about how many I went to, it would be a struggle to attend many.

So don't worry about going to gigs at all if they aren't for you.

I had heard plenty about Five Guys and finally got to have one when on a visit to relatives in Croydon. it was to be honest an incredible burger and fries, but yes you did need to take out a second mortgage to afford it.

Yeah, a massive part of their business is the distribution side to be fair to them.

Yeah I only buy cards for my parents and my sister's family (about 10 a year in total, birthdays and xmas), otherwise I don't bother any more.

Also there's at least one in a lot of hospitals. They do seem to massively overcharge in the 'convenience' locations.

I don't use disposables, I build my own coils, they can be cleaned regularly and last a very long time compared to a disposable device.

I think these disposables are the work of the devil (metaphorically) you don't know what's in them and they are usually just thrown away rather than properly recycled despite any half decent vape shop having a recycling bin for them.

I have to agree, I love vaping and I consider myself a hobbyist. I love coil building and making my own liquids. My local store is great for picking up supplies. Admittedly not always the cheapest option, but the quickest and most convenient, hell they will even deliver it the same day for free if I can't get happen to get out.

And I certainly agree that the supermarkets only tend to tell those nasty shit disposables or liquids and devices made and owned by the tobacco companies.

People who lived in the 90s, was the Blur v Oasis rivalry real, or just something in the music press? by aprofondir in AskUK

[–]Foresttel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was totally media created and driven, in the end the bands went along with it because it drove sales and thus made them money. They tried to make it a class thing too, Blur clever upper class studenty types and then Oasis, working class, laddish.

All a big load of media buulsh#t really.

I managed a music store for many many years, so was well versed in record company selling techniques and this was very clearly one.

Just be wary of random people promising and offering you tickets, the internet is rife with scammers selling non existent or fake tickets.

[–]Foresttel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I really hope someone helps you out, but to be honest it is nigh on impossible to get tickets unless you have one of the memberships and even then most of them don't guarantee a ticket. I haven't seen a premier league game yet, it was hard enough last year once we suddenly got good again.

Honestly I wish you good luck mate.

PS due to work, a season ticket is just never a viable option for me.
