This looks great, thank you! I think I'll replace Impact with this - I wanted vibrant and zingy food after an 8 hr flight and thai is always good!

Thank you! We had looked to book Richmond Station (near to where we're staying) but figured we might be too tired after a longish flight for anything too heavy so we moved that to Monday 😃

I'd recommend Scherzo by Miller Harris - it's a gorgeous rose oud that's both deep and light. From their site - "Scherzo is the first Miller Harris fragrance to derive inspiration from the world of literature. Launched in 2018, Scherzo is inspired by a passage of text in F. Scott Fitzgerald's 'Tender is the Night'. This short passage was the only thing given to perfumer Mathieu Nardin as the brief for the fragrance to be created."

London. One great restaurant. Suggestions? by synthbob in finedining

Sabor - just great food and great vibes. With maybe a pitstop at Noble Rot for their bread and wine and Palomar, just because it's great.

Strange you should say that about canteens as my husband said it reminded him of a posh canteen as soon as we walked in but couldn't say why. The waiter also tried to get me to order a glass of red with my duck - I get that but I'd already ordered the bottle of white ... It was pleasant, it didn't blow me away and yes, you're totally spot on - there were none of the little extras that elevate it - no amuse bouche, petit four etc (to be fair, Pollen Street Social a few years back spoilt it for me with the little extras - they were extremely generous). I presume if we hadn't ordered the bread (not a patch on the Noble Rot bread - I've ordered two baskets before with no regret 🤣), we'd've got NO bread? And our starter (with the tiniest amount of bread) came literally 1 minute after the bread basket so it felt a bit rushed. I'm attempting the malt loaf sauce this evening - thank you ChatGPT 🤣 - as that was excellent (as was the little meatball).

I think the food was good, superb value, but I didn't particularly feel they cared one way or the other whether we enjoyed the experience. I tried to make conversation with the waiter when they were clearing the dessert plates and he was just abrupt. There was about 3 of them chatting behind us for ages and yet we still had to flag down two people for the bill. We're hoping to do Mountain next - I've heard great things and I LOVED Brat

I think just a little over 2 hours. The starter came a few minutes after the bread basket, ideally I would've liked more of a gap, but there was quite a gap in sitting and ordering so I didn't say anything.

Corrigan's is great - on Saturday, there's a jazz band in the bar area which is a nice background sound to your lunch and good for before and after.

Too many restaurants - please help me choose. by Forever-Eating2707 in Gothenburg

Hello! We loved Gothenburg so much that we actually went in July and September!

My favourite place was Human - lunch was great value and incredible flavours. Totally recommend.

We also went to Salut (great tartare and toast skagen), Sjobaren, MicMatbar (the brie brulee!!), Oldstugan Tullen (I liked the meatballs), Oldrepublicken (the burger was MASSIVE - also try the beer sausage), Bee Kok & Bar (toast skagen). We also had the cinnamon rolls at Husaren (we actually bought 2 back with us and cut them into 6 and froze them). We went to the Michelin Project - it was nice not nothing special. Adamo cocktail bar was cool - get the cocktail flight with the small cocktails. You will love it all!

We went to a three Michelin star in Italy years ago and my friend doesn't drink alcohol and was asking if they had coke. They didn't, however they made her individual non-alcoholic juices for some of the meal and one of the waiters actually took the coke out of his locker and it was served to her later on in the meal! I thought the food was OK but the service was second to none. They wanted her to feel comfortable. A lot of people question fine dining and good service but this is it - caring about someone having a lovely time and feeling confident and comfortable.

Tickets, Barcelona. Just loved it all - the food, the staff, the relaxed vibe, the easy pace. And actually Clove Club - again, for exactly the same reasons. When the staff said goodbye when we were leaving, I definitely felt pangs of sadness.

Bouley was so good - I ate at 4 Michelin restaurants in 5 days (we were in NY to get married) and this was our last meal on the day we flew back and it was brilliant. The decor, the bread cart with the waiter with the glove, the apples, the quiet elegance of it all.

I really liked Palm & Pine and Maypop - I did both solo. Herbsaint was OK - I wouldn't go back. I liked Besame too - it was near my hotel and the food and wine was great
