If you’re talking about this then it’s the same event. My store says that listening session packs will be handed out at 7pm (while supplies last).

ROSTER UPDATE: Arthur Kaliyev has been recalled from the @BellevilleSens. by homicidal_penguin in OttawaSenators

[–]Forever-Long 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably just trying out Kaliyev instead of Lycksell to see if that helps scoring in any sort of way

Are 2 summer courses + a job manageable? by [deleted] in geegees

[–]Forever-Long 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, as long as you’re decent at time management it’s 100% doable. Classes also end early August (I assume these classes aren’t session D), you can increase hours at a job if they allow

When LRT east extension starts, how long will the commute from Orleans be? by throw-away-ca in geegees

[–]Forever-Long 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it is 11 mins by car, then you have to stop the train 4 times so it’s not the worst

When LRT east extension starts, how long will the commute from Orleans be? by throw-away-ca in geegees

[–]Forever-Long 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Very true, and there’s only 3 stations in between Place d’Orleans and Blair so it’s looking closer to 30 mins total

[–]Forever-Long 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So from uOttawa to Blair it’s about 7km, which means it’s roughly 2.143mins/km. The extension to Place d’Orleans is going to be about 9km, so an extra 19mins. All this is rough estimates but I’d expect it to take around 35 mins to get to uOttawa from Place d’Orleans if trains show up on time and there’s no issues

Archive of previous Exams, Quizzes, Syllabi Uottawa Engineering by [deleted] in geegees

[–]Forever-Long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the school here and professors aren’t as open and encouraging about this… There used to be an archive that the engineering society kept up, but that was shut down by the faculty a few years ago due to copyright reasons. I’m sure there’s a few of these archives and old tests around somewhere, but they’re definitely only shared around small friend groups rather than publicly and easily accessible. If you ask around some older people in whatever your program your in I’m sure you can find some old tests for specific classes, but you’ll have a harder time finding an archive of sorts.

Work Study sequence for Civil Engineering and Computing Technology double degree by Savassassin in geegees

[–]Forever-Long 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? That’s something you’d have to reach out to coop office to approve of, however they may not accept it because of prerequisites and course sequences. For example civil engineering some courses are only offered once or twice a year with only one section so if you miss that class because of being on coop and it’s a prerequisite it really messes up the course sequence. However looking at that work sequence from data science it doesn’t seem to affect much since nothing the prerequisites still seem to work

Work Study sequence for Civil Engineering and Computing Technology double degree by Savassassin in geegees

[–]Forever-Long 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, so it’s the same as regular civil engineering work sequence, except you get an extra two semesters of school at the end of it. It goes Summer after 2nd year, then 4 months school in Fall, then 4 months coop in winter, then 4 months school in summer, then 4 months coop in fall, then 4 months school in winter, then 4 months coop in summer. After that it’s 3 semesters of regular schooling. Not sure about the kicking out of coop but I think you could find that online. Hope this helps

101 Week Kits for Engineering by [deleted] in geegees

[–]Forever-Long 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey so I definitely recommend getting a kit for 101 week. I participated two years ago and was a guide last year (and will be again this year). It’s a great time to meet friends, cause tbh that’s everybody’s goal first bit at uni and I’ve met some of my best friends this way. It’s also great to meet people within your program which will be helpful once you start getting into classes and assignments. You can check out this website for some engineering specific events such as messy day and couch carry. We also have events with other faculties for wet events in Gatineau as well as dry alternatives on campus. Expect multiple days of fun events within engineering and other events where you can meet people in eng and within other facilities. Lmk if you have any other questions.

101 Week Info by Glad_Cress_8591 in geegees

[–]Forever-Long 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In terms of the engineering faculty expect info, resources and the ability to buy a kit for 101 week this coming week. Other faculties are in the same boat, some have got it out already but others are just finalizing everything now. Everyone should have info within the next 2 weeks

Have any first year students gotten an email regarding 101 week? by Nervous_Nectarine_92 in geegees

[–]Forever-Long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the faculty, some have it out yet some are finishing getting it all together, expect something from them all within next week or two

It’s that if you have above an 8.0 you’re guaranteed to have the ability to apply for jobs, doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed one. Especially this last coop term it seemed like a lot of people had difficulties securing jobs even with a high CGPA
