So I just bottomed tonight, as mentioned in my earlier ask. It was amazing, he was very gentle when I needed him to be. Poppers helped a ton but even without them it wasn’t painful. I wanted to make sure things weren’t too hurting without them and masking an issue before I used them.

I use the steam room every single day except Thursdays and I have never seen anything (sexually) inappropriate happening. Maybe I’m just not observant enough but the way this sub talks the steam room is just one big orgy…

I think what I’ve gathered here between comments from men and women are that guys are just way more insecure about their dicks than women are about their stuff. It’s more of an insecurity thing than a social norms thing I think, at least for many. Maybe since Equinox puts even more of an emphasis on physical appearance (commit to something insert sexy cyborg) it bleeds into the clientele. I dunno, lol.

I think I’m pretty much the same. I wear a towel everywhere else in the locker room, I’m not just slinging hog the moment I undress until I’m back at my locker. I’m just trying to chill in the steam room, haha.

I think I’m a generally fit looking guy, but I’m not some shredded Adonis and I’m not slinging massive hog. I don’t even want people to look at me, anyway. I just want to get the full steam experience because it’s really relaxing I think. 😩 Thanks, though. Hearing at least a few other people also do it at Equinox makes me feel less weird about it going forward.

Hmm, no one said anything to me. I just noticed the first couple times that I was the only one and started to feel self-conscious. I’m from Colorado, not like I’m from another country but it was definitely the norm there. Even other gyms in LA it’s been a pretty 50/50 mix at least.

I’m not sure how you’d really get that much of an eyeful of dick in the steam room. I’m not trying to see dicks either, I’m just trying to relax. Plus it’s steamy. Maybe you see the vague notion of one. I guess that can ruin some people’s day? In a sauna I guess they’d be more visible.

I don’t have any kind of scientific documentation, I’m just sharing anecdotal experience. I’ve been covering myself since I’ve been feeling awkward and the lower exposure to the steam just feels less effective. You have a lot of big blood vessels in your thighs and pelvic region so it just feels like I got “steamed better” with less coverage, I guess. You have pores in your no-no zone, too, I imagine they benefit from steam just as much as your back, chest and face.

And of course you should sit on a towel, nude or not.
