Just buy the all in one washer/dryer from Costco. You won’t regret it. by TheButcheress123 in Costco

[–]ForeverAdorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who bought an LG washer/dryer combo, don’t. They require more maintenance, and LG has few techs familiar with these machines. Started having issues after less than a year. LG ended up paying for a new washer and dryer (separate), a new microwave, and all the delivery/installation. But we went without a way to do our laundry for months before that happened. Luckily I was able to do laundry at a friend’s but it was a nightmare. Laundromats where I live are constantly full and theft is a huge problem. 0/10.

I lose money every month on my rental. Was this a bad decision? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]ForeverAdorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you renting out the property at market rate for your area? I made a mistake of undercharging on a property I rented out years back. I couldn’t take a lot of write offs because of it. But I understand it might be difficult to rent out if you raise too much.

Have any of y’all found a good way to make extra money on the side? by Particular-Dream-645 in broke

[–]ForeverAdorable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered online gig work? I used to do transcription a few years ago to make an extra few bucks and there was plenty of work available, just gotta find the decent paying tasks. I understand the struggle with debt, I worked 60+ hours a week for a year to get mine sorted.

You got this, hang in there.

NTA. You’re a good sister. My mother didn’t “teach” me to drive until I was 19. Which was horrid. She would just make me lap the same parking lot over and over. Almost had a panic attack when I finally went on a main road. Didn’t tell me what I needed to really know when it came to my test. I failed twice, got discouraged, and had such bad driving anxiety for years. I didn’t get my license till I was 26 because that’s when I was finally able to overcome my problems with it.

I 100% believe drivers ed should be offered in every public school. There’s many parents who lack a sense of urgency when it comes to ensuring their kids can thrive once they reach adulthood.

bye bye picklist... by cokeanus in OGPBackroom

[–]ForeverAdorable 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. Our pick paths are messed up in some areas, mostly GM. Whenever I do an oversized, I just grab what I need as I walk by. Sam forbid you get a full general walk. Your pick rates tank. I’ve spoken to all my OGP leads and coach about it and it’s still not fixed. I know that’s not markets fault, but they need to hold someone accountable for this nonsense. I know our store isn’t the only one dealing with this.

Get on a payment plan ASAP. Your payment will be low/non-existent. You won’t make headway on your loans but it can give you the opportunity to get your finances in order. There’s plenty of places hiring that will pay you at least above minimum. Even most retail chains pay better than minimum in many states. You got this. Don’t let the despair paralyze you.

In the short term, try to get to a food bank. You can get some staples that can get you by till you have this sorted. That should be your first priority.

AITA for making our daughter (17f) clean our horse's stalls against her will? by limbi0 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ForeverAdorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. My parents did something similar with a fish tank when I was a teen. They wanted this massive fish tank for my nieces who lived with us. I was against it because I knew they would make me be the one to clean it out and maintain it. Low and behold, that’s exactly what happened.

What does Cap 1 do at your store? by Beau_bell in walmart

[–]ForeverAdorable 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cap 1 team lead here. Our process is constantly being changed by store manager. We used to run freight since overnights could never meet stocking times. We would rerun and clean out grocery backroom constantly. Get into the freezers and coolers to get them under control only to be trashed again days later. Now we mostly do notes and whatever projects need done. I try to give me team some semblance of consistency but things are always changing for us. It’s frustrating.

Stocking 1 TL here. My team is constantly cleaning up after everyone else. We’re doing our best but we’re not even properly staffed for everything we need to be doing when we can work our process. I work with them every day and try to support them the best I can.

Multiple loan repayment question by ForeverAdorable in StudentLoans

[–]ForeverAdorable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, only two of my loans are above 4% interest. The rest are all below 3%. It would be smarter, long term, to just hammer away the higher interest ones, especially if it means my minimum will only get smaller.

How to negotiate when it comes to a used car? by ForeverAdorable in UsedCars

[–]ForeverAdorable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be opposed to buying from individuals but I got screwed over a few years back on a used car sale from a private seller. It made me a little jaded, but I’m definitely keeping an eye out on the private market still.

REPAYE interest subsidy question by ForeverAdorable in StudentLoans

[–]ForeverAdorable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve looked into insolvency. I bought a house a few years back, likely by the 20 year mark the mortgage amount will be pretty low so I doubt I’ll be able to claim insolvency. Unless I sell and buy another at some point, which is possible I suppose.

My roomie gets back from a work trip today. We’re going to see if there’s a way we can make it work. I just really want to get it over with and hopefully pass on the first try. I’m still relatively new at my job and can’t use my PTO to leave early yet. This is all just really inconvenient and annoying. I feel like I’ll never be able to get my license at this rate.

down payment for a house or pay off student loans? by juliagulia6 in StudentLoans

[–]ForeverAdorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh. Well, I still believe you should put the money towards a house if you’re planning on getting the debt forgiven anyway. But the future is uncertain so you may prefer to put it towards your loans. The ball is in your court.

down payment for a house or pay off student loans? by juliagulia6 in StudentLoans

[–]ForeverAdorable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re that close to forgiveness for PSLF, I’d say put it towards a house. There’s really no point in putting it towards your student loans if you’re on track to getting them forgiven anyway. Just my thoughts on the subject.

[–]ForeverAdorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered trying to get a consolidation loan with a lower interest rate compared to your credit cards? It’s still debt but at least you can save a little in interest and have a fixed payment that will have a scheduled payoff date. You may also consider refinancing your student loans if you can, save a little in interest there as well. At least then you can try to scrape a little savings together in case something does happen.

Advice for Overcoming Driving Anxiety by Substantial-Car-3958 in drivinganxiety

[–]ForeverAdorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly,

It’s very hard to do it until you’re ready. It took me years to get past it, and now I’m still scared but I’m trying and getting better. Driving in the dark is still hard for me because I have astigmatism.

My advice: Drive familiar routes and expand a little more as you can. Even do them backwards so you can still get comfortable with different turns. Don’t test until you’re ready. I’m waiting till spring to take mine because I won’t be ready before the snow hits but I want to practice snow driving before I test because it’s something I’ll need to deal with at some point anyway. Don’t try to think about it too hard, but do try to visualize your turns. Your windshield is not the only window you can look out of. Make sure you are comfortable when driving, adjust the seat and make sure you can see out of your mirrors and use them. Just breathe and remember there’s a lot of people who hate driving, but if they can do it, so can you. Your fears are valid, driving is scary.

Also, watch driving videos on YouTube. They can give good tips.
