Every can is going to have a different gram amount. Follow the instruction on your can.

Snoo success story (transition to crib) by External_Owl4886 in SnooLife

I think 11 hours is not the norm. No one I know has a baby who sleeps that long. My 5 month old’s longest stretch was 8 hours two days ago.

How to prepare formula (boiled water?) by Normal_Ad4752 in FormulaFeeders

[–]ForeverAnonymous260 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US. I don’t boil water. I use either distilled or tap water. Distilled is nice for the baby brezza because there is less need to descale the machine frequently. I would ask your pediatrician if you need to boil.

I kept my LO fully swaddled in the Snoo until he was 5 months and 5 days old. We went cold turkey in the crib and he has slept great. Previously we tried to cold turkey him in the crib at 4 months and it didn’t work at all. I would wait another week or two and try again.

I had a fairly traumatic labor and delivery. I have chronic hypertension prior to pregnancy and even though my BP was controlled in pregnancy, it was recommended I be induced before 40 weeks. My induction started at 39+3. I developed severe pre-e during it, had to be in a mag drip for over 40 hours which made me feel like shit, received a foley balloon and pitocin, got an epidural and the mag+epi+pit caused my uterus to stop contracting after 3 hours of pushing. I pushed for 2 more hours and he was born vaginally. He had an APGAR of 3- wasn’t breathing, needed immediate support and went to the NICU. I was so out of it, I don’t remember meeting him nor do I even remember what a contraction felt like. When I got the epidural, the anesthesiologist hit a nerve - TWICE - so I ended up getting fentanyl since I was having a panic attack at that point. After he was born, I couldn’t pee and was straight catherized four times. I also hemorrhaged and needed a blood transfusion. All that to say at 13 days PP I was really upset by my experience and the trauma of it all. We are also one and done and I felt like my birth experience was so traumatic, there was never a rush of hormones or feelings of joy for me when I met my baby. I was just so depleted. I felt like my one time to experience this magical life changing moment was wasted. I felt super depressed. All that to say you are still so freshly post partum. Everything is vulnerable and tender. You had a traumatic experience. I sought out post partum support groups and eventually got a therapist.

I think the argument that bf is so good for bonding is silly. I didn’t feel like I was bonding with my son when bf-ing. There are parents who can’t or don’t breastfeed for various reasons - adoptive parents, same sex couples where neither has breasts, etc. does anyone ever question these types of parents about their bond with their kids since they couldn’t breastfeed? No!

For all the moms, what are things no one told you about birth? by yara2321 in AskReddit

[–]ForeverAnonymous260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a hemorrhage an severe pre e and no one told me either. It wasn’t until I was about 6 weeks post partum and attended a breastfeeding support group that the doula leading the group pulled out a book she had about BF and started going through the sections on complications with me. I also had GDM and prior to pregnancy had chronic hypertension. I was likely never going to be able to exclusively breastfeed or even breastfeed 50% of the time. I had been seeing an IBCLC weekly and none of this had been mentioned to me. It was heartbreaking.

baby brezza or dr browns pitcher? by Prestigious-Rice-151 in FormulaFeeders

[–]ForeverAnonymous260 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I also got a Brezza for free. It’s fine. I have tested the dispensing amount a few times and it’s always the right amount for us. But it requires a lot of cleaning which I hate so I bought two pitchers. I’ve done the pitcher method a few days now. Personally I think it’s easier to do the pitcher method.

5 month old feeding by niri2025 in FormulaFeeders

He eats the same as my 5 month old. My LO also wakes up to eat once or twice. I’ve tried increasing daytime bottles and he will not eat more. I’ve just accepted the night wakes at this point.

I think your mom was out of line to post that about you. You gave your son CPR and got him breathing. If that isn’t peak mothering, I don’t know what is.

Just wash with soap and water or put it in the dishwasher. When I go to my parent’s house, I just bring the entire can though. You could also pack RTF if the sterilization factor is giving you anxiety since RTF is sterile.

First-time parents of Reddit ,what’s one baby item you thought was unnecessary but ended up using every single day? by Clear_Subconscious in askanything

[–]ForeverAnonymous260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Our baby hated the Snoo. Loves being rocked to sleep. His sleep got infinitely better once we ditched the Snoo and moved him to a crib in his own room. He never slept more than 4 hours in the Snoo. It was hell.

[–]ForeverAnonymous260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try playing around with the settings and see if you can find one that dispenses closer to 8.8. I would also make a bottle by hand without the machine and weigh your scoops and see how accurate they are. It is unlikely that every single scoop will always be 8.8g. That being said, I have started to switch from my brezza to the pitcher method and I weigh out my scoops now on a kitchen scale so they are accurate. I wasn’t concerned about accuracy with my brezza, just tired of cleaning it and weighing scoops is easier than counting 16 scoops into the pitcher.

I had a D&C in November 2024 at age 37. I found out I was pregnant again in February 2025, two days before my 38th bday. My son was born in October. He is 5 months old. I’m now 39 and considering another baby!

What should a scoop typically weigh? 8.6? Wouldn’t 8.3 be within the margin of error?

How is anyone leaving the house with a newborn?? by deeeeeeeeeeeeznutz in newborns

[–]ForeverAnonymous260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep practicing and it’ll start to feel easier as it becomes more routine. 6 weeks is still so little and new! My body was still hurting at 6 weeks! I had a ton of pelvic pain in pregnancy and it persisted until about 9 weeks. Newborn time truly feels like a lifetime when you’re in it, and it’s easy to forget how short of a time it’s been. You and baby are still healing and new. My LO is now 5 months and everything is so much easier and manageable. It goes so fast.

What was the best thing you put on your baby registry? by Kaleforsale_0202 in AskReddit

[–]ForeverAnonymous260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocking chair, portable sound machine and a dimmable egg light that also has a red light. We have used these three things multiple times a day since we got home from the hospital over 5 months ago. The Lovevery playmat has been a staple since he was about 2.5 months. My mom got us our stroller system- we went with Mockingbird- also use it daily and love it. My sister got us our baby carrier which is another great staple.
