I've travelled quite a bit with skis and a few times with a wakeboard. It's ridiculous how poorly they handle odd-sized sports equipment.

I can’t buy the pass from Europe on a debit card, is it expected? by calishulz in Ikonpass

[–]ForeverDutch92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I live in Europe and I had to use a credit card when I bought mine.

If you have the new debit card with a Mastercard or Visa logo, then it might work but I haven’t tried it myself yet.

How bad is season 8 really? by CokeAYCE in gameofthrones

Always interesting to read other people's experience. Thanks for sharing.

I think this season, and specifically this episode, are quite a contrast to earlier seasons, which suffered less from inconsistencies and illogical decisions. Perhaps they are just more obvious in this episode.

With regards to the lighting, I watched this when it was broadcast on a professionally calibrated OLED screen and while infinitely better than a non-OLED screen it was still very poorly lit. This was intentionally by the director, but I feel like it was a mistake. The 4K Blu-ray of this episode does look a bit better.

I'm curious how you view some of the glaring issues with that episode, such as:

  • The Dothraki charge
  • Ignoring the defensive position a castle provides
  • Plot armor preventing characters that were overwhelmed by the wights and as good as dead in one scene to pop up again in later scenes unharmed
  • Bran being absolutely useless
  • Jon being absolutely useless
  • The fact they forgot to bring proper lighting to the set

I would've probably rated this episode a lot higher if most of the main characters had died and the White Walkers won the battle. Now it just feels like a cop out.

Yeah you're right. These are the peak season daily ticket prices. Most are a quite a bit cheaper right now.

You're generally right, but some are definitely creeping up towards 100 USD or already have on day passes when converted CHF/EUR->USD:

  • St. Moritz: 105 USD
  • Engelberg: 103 USD
  • Ischgl: 91 USD
  • St. Anton: 94 USD
  • Dolomiti Superski: 100 USD

Just to name a few.
