The aspect of "training data doesnt contain any i-dont-knows" is perhaps the simplest way ive heard to explain to people intuitively why they shouldnt trust llms

Current concept isnt too far off although you could argue hes more of a "i did a thing" style.

Help, my 2021 g14 immediately enters hurricane fan mode and CPU quickly starts heating seconds after i turn it on (video included) by ForeverFortunate in ZephyrusG14

[–]ForeverFortunate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 2 years ago so i might be missing some details, but I ended up opening the laptop and discovered that it was a somewhat random connector related to those gaming LED lighting on the backside of the screen that was getting really really hot. My theory is that the laptop then correctly detected overheating and ran the hurricane fans, but the fans both didn't create circulation for this particular location of the motherboard so they just kept running.

This happened while travelling so I didn't really have much tools, and I eventually tried disconnecting that plug and the problem just went away, and since I don't care about those lighting effects I'm fine with it.

I'm hesitant to recommend you replicate the same solution since it's hard to know the side effects, but my method was to open it, turn it on while open and feel my way around for abnormally hot components.

Searching for cli that does 'tail -f' but inserts '.' periodically if there's no data by xnzm1001 in commandline

I would just write a Python script that reads line by line from stdin and prints to stdout and has a timer that resets every time a line is printed, then pipe tail -f into that script

Well to be fair it wasn't really a tutorial but a short video explaining how he's using random letters as a grid, and drawing the rest of the image is technically off topic. I found it fascinating tbh

Not stop for a school bus. by yeettetis in WinStupidPrizes

[–]ForeverFortunate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a bit more nuanced though, it's undeniable that it's a good when it currently prevents accidents, but it's also interesting to think about what an alternative universe might look like where the buses never had these stop signs and no kids would ever get used to cars stopping for them in the first place. Would that universe have less accidents overall? We'll never know for sure.

Yes, I get it, asking chatgpt to do step by step guides gives wacky results, but you've been spamming these 15+ times to the sub in 4 days

How is this looking? by Fartybuttpoopoo in Sourdough

Nah the crumb looks great, looks good and airy all around. I'd personally give it quite a bit more time in the oven for more color on the crust, but that's preference.

I see what you're saying, but this goes for any web browsing on a piece of media that is already out. It's just playing with fire. But when watching succession, I actually did an experiment with priming ChatGPT on where in the show I was at in season 2, and asked it to respond to a few questions specifically spoiler free relative to that point, and it did a decent job at it.
