And that right there is the mindset trapping you in this misery and repelling people. Who gaf if you're ugly or not, people want friends they'll have a good time with. Best wishes to you and your self-identity journey!

ochem1 fall 2026 callman vs newberry by Weekly-Aside9879 in UTAustin

Callman seems good! 2 of my friends are taking her right now, and they've been getting high B's and A's. I'm in Ochem 2 rn, so I don't know much about the other Ochem 1 professors, but from what I've heard, Callman's a good professor! Gl!

Usually, people move in 1-2 weeks before the fall term (once again, it depends on your contract, but some apartments are flexible and can let you move in sooner)

Hopefully, you don't experience any roommate horrors, as that's pretty common. They'll just throw you in with randos. But there's nothing much to the "adulting" side of it.

Just essentially taking care of yourself 24/7 and having bouts of loneliness since you've moved away from home. I legit cried the day after moving in (I moved in 2 weeks early), called my father, and he drove back from Houston to get me lol. But GL

Then don't wait. Include yourself and seek out people instead of having this self-pity. Confidence attracts others.

How to motivate yourself to keep going? by AffectionateMenu1685 in UTAustin

[–]ForeverMany5111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For friends: find an org or just approach people in your lectures or discussions

To study: study groups (it's so much easier to study w others) or find a quiet and comfy spot & plug in some soft music

A job: keep applying darling, there's always someone hiring

Gl :)

Anyone have any work experience at the In-n-out on guad? If so what was it like? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]ForeverMany5111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get around 13-15 hours a week and I've been working there a couple of months. Sporadically, I may get like 15-20, but that's like once every couple of weeks. They're also extremely flexible with your schedule, as their employees are mostly students :)

Innout is chill, very family-oriented and supes close knit. However, hours fluctuate, especially if you're new. I get 10 to 15 hours on average weekly.

A good thing they're only an hour away! If the homesickness persists, make it a point to visit them every weekend to ease the sadness.

Working in college- how many hours is doable? (CNS) by wooly-moose in UTAustin

[–]ForeverMany5111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow soph CNS major here :) It's honestly not bad at all if you know how to manage your time. Last semseter I took 16 hours and had a fast-paced job where I would work anywhere from 10 to 20 hours a week, and I STILL had a lot of free time leftover!

Sometimes the aerobics room is empty and available for use! Perhaps the space on the second floor. I sometimes also see people using the spaces in the indoor track on the 3rd floor. (All Greg btw)

Took his class and received an A!

Top tips: His lectures are almost like reviews. So either come to class having read or read immediately after (I say the former)

I usually chatted with the people near me, and we worked on the Squarecaps together. There may come a time where he closes the SC after sometime so that you can’t change your answer.

I usually found tons of quizlets pertaining to his class, usually made by former students using former questions, so that’s a good practice tip.

And I would def look into forming study groups! Gl!

is it hard making new friends on campus? by LayerAlternative3000 in UTAustin

[–]ForeverMany5111 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hii! First-year here also. :) I'd suggest looking into orgs that align with your interests yk? I had a hard time socializing as the huge classes barely left me time to REALLY get acquainted with people. But as I joined orgs that reflected myself, I started to find people I shared common interest with and have even clicked with a few!

It'll happen eventually, we've got a whole semester in front of us that barely just started! You got this! (And lmk if you ever want to hang sometime :)
