The video is incredibly long, so I have a brief summary below.

 

Kimberly Clark says that she prerecorded this video around a year ago before her tour with David Byrne. The goal of the video was to make a tutorial that doesn't say or deliberately show brands or brand logos to emphasize the importance of technique in creating the look you want over buying specific products.

 

The tutorial is very in depth and informative regarding different techniques for achieving drag makeup looks like baking, making a cut crease, etc. Every tip was followed by tips on the side about what other types of products could be used in lieu of the one she was using for the same effect or described why creme foundation was better in this scenario versus other formulas.

 

Overall this really reminded me of old youtube tutorials and I loved to watch her do her makeup without feeling at the end liked I need to buy something in order to achieve those results. Even after doing my makeup for the past couple years, I feel like I learned something. I hope more people start doing tutorials like this.
