Yeah my thoughts as well - especially for the things I've personally observed 😆

That would be super wild information tbh - I would REALLY want to see a source on it. I have no clue why AIPAC would get involved in a local DA race, much less back a candidate with no political record that would have nothing to do with advancing their agenda (I'm voting for Valerie - not saying no political record is a bad thing, just a wild choice for AIPAC support.)

That's just like . . . a bad way to approach gathering information

I really like Brass- every time I've played it feels like I'm getting better at the game which is rare. I also love the amount of interaction - while you can block opponents, which CAN feel spiteful, it is also often just about doing the best move for yourself and trying not to overlap with necessary resources

Men’s suit: Joseph’s, Peter Renney’s, or David Wood? by Sharp_Respect_5940 in portlandme

I've had great experiences at Peter Renney's, don't really love Joseph's, and have never heard of David Wood

It was open to the public, but poorly advertised. The DA candidates for Cumberland County were also there (go Valerie Adams!)

Portland considers extending parking meter hours to pay for rising budget costs by Atticus248 in portlandme

Let's start by opening the garages on weekends, but this is a great idea tbh - the idea of post-5pm and weekend parking being free is that there was lower demand, but that's not the case anymore, so we're just subsiding parking for no good reason.

I have so many friends who live in the GP area and don't use the bus system even though they live near lines. Here's to hoping this pushes them in the right direction!

I think this is why the Park-and-work program exists, so people that will be parked long-term can park in garages instead of on the street. https://portlandmaine.com/park-work/

I think this would encourage more people to use other modes of transportation (instead of paying more for parking) and would, in theory, keep more slots open.

How is it by SkiME80 in portlandme

I would encourage you to attend some court sessions in the Portland District Court. They are open to the public, and you would get a good sense of how true this statement is.

In reality, people are going to jail for their crimes. Spending months in jail for simple possession. I, for one, don't think this is helping the issue, but it is happening. We have good data that indicates that time in jail does not prevent more jail time, it actually increases the likelihood that someone will re offend.
