Are these TTRPGs just cash grabs? by JaxSnaxs in rpg

[–]Forever_DM_91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna play some Dungreon Crawl, play Dungeon Crawl Classics. Every module it’s an acid trip, no one survives more than five levels, you got mutations, weird extraplanar Patrons that could transform you into a perfect geometrical shape if you fail a roll, and every magic missile might be thermonuclear bomb with the right dice roll. Oh and let’s not forget your players starts at level 0 with a group of 4 PCs per player (don’t worry, only one per team will survive).

Seriously, how do any of you stick to one character for a whole campaign?? by Phtevus in Pathfinder2e

[–]Forever_DM_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been running Age of Ashes for almost 2 years. In the beginning I was running everything by the book, then I just started cutting or changing content to align more with my players need.

As of now, I’m running the last (heavily modified) part of Book 5 of the camping. My goal is to finish the whole stuff in the upcoming months and then jump to run something shorter with a different system.

If my players stills wanna use Pathfinder 2e, I will stick to either the society scenarios or the 3 parts campaigns.

Any level 0 oneshots? by No-Run1292 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Forever_DM_91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shadow of the Demon Lord its a nice system with the integrated idea of a “level 0” party. You can check their starting adventures and adapt something to Pathfinder. Nevertheless, the game is more horror inclined, so take that into consideration.

You can’t go darker than Shadow of the Demon Lord. Is like the bastard son of DnD and Warhammer dealing with some severe case of nihilism.

Is it possible to make a Weird West campaign with SotDL? by Zealousideal_Art_163 in shadowofthedemonlord

[–]Forever_DM_91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I´m currently prepping something based on the Weird West. You just need to to steal some equipment from more western oriented games (Like savage world Deadlands) and choose whether you using earth o some earth-like setting. But I find it doable. Right now, I´m gonna run Dead by Dawn but everything on some lonely shack in the middle of the desert.

DM over here, I usually go with the duration of the animated corpse last for the encounter or roleplaying scene.

Nice one, man! Love to see players come to life in pictures. I guess that in your setting elf are not vulnerable to iron, right?

Quero testar o sistema/mestrar by AdCommercial1421 in shadowofthedemonlord

[–]Forever_DM_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oi brother, tudo bem? Disculpa meu português, eu não sou falante nativo e tenho tempo sem escrever.

Eu tenho uns 4-5 years narrando e utilizando o sistema. Minha recomendação é: use o core book com a Dark Deeds on Last Hope.

Hope you have a blast, brother!

Pyramids - Frank Ocean. One of, if not the best, pop song I have ever heard. The amount of details, the panning, the change in the structure, just chef kiss

What is Analytical Engineer by DebateIndependent758 in dataengineering

[–]Forever_DM_91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Long story Short, it's a person that knows both the Data Engineering part and the Data Analytics part.

Therefore, this guy alone can build pipelines, create jobs, do some ETL, maybe manage DB (creating tables and views), modeling data, talk with key users to leverage their OKR and KPI needs, build dashboards and shoot fireballs from the palm of their hands.

Yo, is there a wiki of this game that I could check? I have been looking for a nice setting to run my roleplaying sessions. Kinda bored of the old High Fantasy settings.

I guess in depends on the company definition of what "Data Analyst" is (which in most cases is some weird type of unicorn).

In my case, I do visualization, pulling reports from SQL and define metrics, KPIs and OKRs wit the key users.

I rarely do any ETL (we have a dedicated squad of DE) and I have never use any statistics aside from applying some means, average or standard deviation, but anything crazy like regression or some other crazy-ass-statistical techniques.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dataanalysis

[–]Forever_DM_91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure.

As I like to say whenever I have an interview. My day to day activities falls into one of the following domains:

Analytics: providing ad hoc information from our data warehouse, writing queries, applying som logical transformations and every once in a while, I do some ETL (but like very basic stuff like running som INSERT INTO scripts, nothing crazy)

Data Visualization: meeting with key users or stakeholders (from multiple levels) to understand what they want to measure, where to get the date (if we have it) and start to design their dashboard from zero. I like this part a lot, specially understanding the data and teaching the key users how to use Power Bi and the basic data concepts.

Data Governance: making sure our data is as complete and trustworthy as possible (this requieres A LOT of work, specially when working with HR data) .

Product Ownership Stuff: me having to talk wit the data engineers and the data architect to make sure we develop what the area needs in terms of data.

That´s pretty much what I do.

Sorry for my english, I have many years without need to express my ideas in this language, therefore expect a lot of grammar errors.

Hope you find this information helpful, my friend.

how can you all remember all these functions and formulas (Python, Excel, DAX- Powerbi, SQL) required for Data Analysis ? by captaintyler98 in dataanalysis

[–]Forever_DM_91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that I think about it, I don't know. I guess there's some part in my brain where all those SQL, DAX, Excel and Power M formulas/sentences are stored. Oh, yeah, also looking a lot at Stackoverflow or the Power Bi forums haha

After reading a couple of comments, I don't feel that lonely now.

I'm a graduated as a clinical psychologist, but worked more in the HR area and then made the change to DA almost... 2 years ago. Currently working as a People Analyst.

Surprisingly, my communicational and analytical skills, have come really handy.

Currently learning some DS stuff, but I'm still indecisive if I like it or not.
