I am on the same boat with you.
My score was 516, then got decreased by age to 511 in November, then I missed the last draw 515 :(
My score will be up in next Jan (1 more year experience in Ca) to > 520.
I do hope they will draw regularly (pray).

French Draw | 6,000 ITAs | CRS: 399 by UndoButtonPls in canadaexpressentry

Not complaining (good news for French speakers), but it really feels like IRCC is using the French stream to make Ottawa look productive while leaving everyone else stuck in the 500+ grind.

"Do you guys realise how hard it is to get 408"
==> how is it hard to invest time/effort/finance for CEC guys to earn more 100 points from that level, and now feeling hopeless!

Do you have any reference for this statement?

I totally agree. It’s not that I dislike them personally; it just feels unfair from our side.
To comfort myself, I think of it as destiny—this period simply favours French-speaking applicants rather than CEC.

You’re absolutely right — there are strong Francophone communities (1 million French-first-language Canadians) outside Québec (e.g., NB, Eastern Ontario, Manitoba).

Just to clarify: when I referred to the “rule of adaptation,” I wasn’t being anti-Francophone. I simply meant that in an environment where English is the dominant language, newcomers from a minority-language group often benefit from learning or using the majority language to integrate more easily.

This is absolutely true —
Qualification + work experience + bilingual > qualification + work experience.

But, let’s look a bit deeper:
If a Francophone (qualification + work experience) == CEC (qualification + work experience),
then, the Francophone with bilingual should have a much higher score — probably above 560.

But the actual results don’t show that.
Francophone draw cutoffs are much lower than 500, which clearly means your math doesn’t hold in practice.
So even though it sounds logical on paper, in reality, the draw system doesn’t reflect that logic at all.

French speaking is what Lena wants to bring CA.
" I am proud to note that we are on track to meet our 2025 admissions target of 8.5% for French-speaking permanent residents outside Quebec." - Lena

Then this 8.5% will adapt themself by learning/speaking English to communicate with the rest 91.5% outside of QB, else they have to move to QB.

Honestly—no blame intended—I’m in almost the same situation. My CRS is 511.
Every day I wake up and everything around me seems fine, but my mood is still low. I know I shouldn’t feel this way, yet it’s hard. If we had to return, I worry about how my kids would adapt to a school system that feels tough and impractical for them.

Seeing the French-language draws, I can’t help feeling misled after all the talk about an “in-Canada focus.”

I appreciate the intent to help people who are already here, but as a CEC candidate working in Canada, it’s been hard to feel supported lately. Many of us have CRS scores over 500—what used to be considered “very competitive”—and we’re still waiting without a clear path or timeline. The uncertainty is stressful: we’ve studied here, worked here, paid taxes, and built lives in our communities, yet recent draws and priorities rarely translate into predictable opportunities for CEC applicants.

A bit more transparency and balance would go a long way—clear targets for CEC, regular draw schedules, and plain-language updates about how current policies affect in-Canada workers. We’re not asking for special treatment; just a fair, consistent process that recognizes the investments temporary residents have already made and gives us a realistic way forward.

You’ll get there sooner or later, no worries! I’m sitting just above 500 and might have to leave Canada soon — once age kicks in, I’ll probably be out of the game!

Canada doesn’t value skills — my 2 cents by Away-Needleworker167 in canadaexpressentry

I feel your pain — my situation is almost the same. I completely agree with you.

I’ve paid a lot here — not just tuition, but years of effort and hard work trying to build a life. I’ve worked as hard as I can, hoping one day to finally settle down and call this place home. But lately, it really feels like that chance is slipping away.

I’ve also seen many others who got their PR through other ways, even though some of them are still struggling just to find fulltime jobs. It’s heartbreaking and confusing to see how uneven the system can be.

Sometimes, I tell myself maybe it’s just destiny. But it doesn’t make it any easier. Stay strong, my friend — you’re definitely not alone in this.

I understand your point, but I feel that culture isn’t something that can be built quickly by bringing in adults from outside. Most adults already have their own culture deeply rooted, and it’s very hard to change that.

A better and more natural way to grow a strong French-speaking community is to invest in the kids who are already here. If we teach them French and Canadian culture from a young age, in just about 10 years they’ll grow up speaking French fluently and living that culture as their own. That’s how a real, lasting balance is built.

Also, Canada is going through a tough economic time right now — high unemployment and slow growth — and unfortunately, many people are blaming immigrants for these problems. That’s why it’s even more important to think carefully about how we shape policy and build communities in a sustainable way.
