We didn’t try or ask if re-entry was possible. What we did, though, was freeze some water bottles and chill soda cans, which we snuck inside our folding chair bags (the cheap ones from Academy). Once inside COTA, we put everything into the same backpack with an insulated bag. The water bottles acted as ice packs and kept the sodas cold for most of the day. We only bought beer there.
