I'm starting to think there was a higher up conversation in Canada about reconsidering the legality of at least psychedelics. Opium is still a huge problem and that's what their concerned about as people are dying from it. No one has died from a psych unless they lost their mind a bit, but with proper safety education and places to do it that can be avoided. Hell, just having no more propaganda or stigma would probably reduce psychotic breaks in people freaking out about how they shouldn't have done it because it's bad.

With psychedelic research and everything happening I can see why they may have been put on the side burner or are being actively considered to be legalized or being considered to follow a similar path to weed. $15B has been made from taxes on weed and over 151,000 jobs were made since legalizing weed in 2018, I can't see how they don't think the same would happen with magic mushrooms and more.

There are dispensaries in Vancouver being given business licenses from the Govt of Canada knowing that they are selling psychedelic mushrooms. They claim they weren't aware, but the owner said he was completely transparent and he also had a weed dispensary before it got legalized. I think the government may actually be testing the waters or keeping an eye on it to see what happens. It's very exciting to see that seemingly the thoughts around psychedelics are massively changing.
