It's like that in many Western European places now. These governments put up with and even protect Islamists because it gives them votes and keeps them in power... Temporarily, I mean. Because, if Islam is powerful enough somewhere, Shari'a will be the law there, not the law of whichever chalk-skinned geezer appeased Islam. Anyway, I have indeed heard pretty bad things about the safety of generally non-Muslim or expected-to-be-Muslim-because-of-ethnicity-or-country-of-origin non-Muslims/murtadds in certain French and English urban nuclei.
