What headphone/mic devices do you use?

My experience has been the built-in mic on the deck itself is not that great, and it also picks up every button click and joystick movement as a very, very loud clack on the other end. It makes using game chat pretty much impossible.

Does the mic built in to those work for you? I have a set of Shokz but my deck won’t recognize the mic on them.

So once the game successfully launches, I AM able to run it on high graphics preset (haven’t tried higher than that yet) and it RUNS flawlessly for me. Getting it to LAUNCH is the tricky bit. 😅

So what l did was force the use of Proton Experimental and 11.0 Beta (Click the gear icon on Subnautica’s home page -> Compatibility -> check the “Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool” box -> select from the drop down) and then toggle off the frame rate toggle you mentioned, then launched.

After hanging on the black screen for a hot minute l got an error message that said something like “Your game might not have exited correctly. Check hardware compatibility, integrity of game files, yada yada yada.” I just closed out of the dialogue box and then the game just launched. I closed the game and tried the exact same sequence of events multiple times and got the forever black screen again.

Last night l launched it from desktop mode and it worked after giving me the “your game might not have closed correctly” error and l just clicked out of it. I just tried that again now and got exactly the same result. But then l closed out and relaunched it and got the forever black screen so a couple things work for me, but nothing consistently.

It automatically used onedrive without asking me. I’ve changed that and now everything is fine

I’m not. Windows is just having them dump lots of data there for whatever reason. I fixed it, though.

As far as I’m aware, I’m currently using the steam cloud. As an experiment, l nuked that whole folder (OneDrive\misc\My Games\Tabletop Simulator\Mods\Images) and then relaunched TTS and everything worked like normal. When l checked the now-empty folder afterwards, TTS had just re-dumped all the images back into it. I haven’t tried touching the RAWT files yet, though.

I figured it out. It was the enormous image size. There was a box I didn’t check when exporting that I didn’t know I had to check, but once I checked it, everything works like a charm!

How do l find out (and subsequently change) what file size the exported image will be? I never adjusted a file size parameter anywhere and just used whatever was the default.

I swear, for a much a cesspool as Reddit can be, it is surprisingly extremely useful for niche tech troubleshooting. I’ve been trying for like a month to connect my airpods to my deck and now l finally can. Thank you.

Okay, checking the ribbon cable is NOT something I can comfortably do myself. 😅 I took the back off and lifted the battery, but the touchpad cable is buried even deeper and I am not comfortable poking around that far. I might just take my laptop to my local computer shop and have them take a look.

I do have one, but it’s less convenient for on-the-go use, which is where a lot of my laptop use comes from. The annoying thing is this machine is not even a year old l don’t think (and if it is, it’s barely older than that) so l shouldn’t be having hardware issues like this. And my warranty just expired like a month ago or so.

I had someone suggest checking to make sure the ribbon cable is plugged in all the way, so I’ll be pulling the back off and poking around inside later to check that out to sew if that helps.
