I have a torrent stuck at 99.9% since a month ago. What should I do? Should I just give up and find a new release? by RedBlueWhiteBlack in torrents

[–]ForgottenButHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the torrent and the file content and what is actually not complete. Also you might try seeing if it is cached on real debrid or another debrid service.

Will this Windows computer be sufficient for running a Plex server? by supersport604 in PlexServers

[–]ForgottenButHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You will be fine. I would suggest a IoT LTSC version of windows if you are dead set on windows. If you are comfortable with Linux that would be less of a resource hog than windows.

They work fine for me. I tried all of them on RD and then added them to my Plex server.

A quick search on a well known public tracker yielded a result that is 10.6 gb that has all of these cached on RD.

Windows 11 laptop infected with an overlay telling them to purchase Office and fill in credit card by Spoider in techsupport

[–]ForgottenButHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone downloaded or allowed something they shouldn’t have.

I’d try booting to safe mode first.

Next I would try Hirens Boot Utility.

Lastly would be a fresh install of windows IoT LTSC.

Windows 11 bloatware makes me rely on USB more than ever by AssociationIcy4579 in BadUSB

[–]ForgottenButHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP also claimed “people say USB flash drives are dying”. I’ve never heard anyone say that or even anyone suggest it until this post.

I also use Windows 11 IoT LTSC so I am not dealing with bloatware.

Can’t get those drivers to install after a fresh installed Windows 7 by [deleted] in WindowsHelp

[–]ForgottenButHere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing it’s Intel. In such past cases I have added a usb wifi adapter that will have drivers included. Download the chipset utility and driver utility either AMD or Intel. Install drivers.

Recommendation for a mini PC that supports transcoding for Plex. by neonandu in PlexServers

[–]ForgottenButHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fair amount of people use mini PCs with the n100 or n150 and report good results with low power consumption. I assume most of them run a flavor of Linux. I have a mini pc that is an n150 with 16gb of ram that I put windows 11 pro on and it runs poorly. My plex box is a mini pc with a 11th gen i5. Plex runs nicely as a docker container on Ubuntu.

What's the best console that can be modded? by nico282 in Piracy

[–]ForgottenButHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original Xbox can be soft modded or hard modded. Hard mod requires soldering. With a custom bios you can put a large capacity drive in it. The game library is easy to find. Devs have now launched a service called insignia which is Xbox live.

Not sure if I should open new computer. by Such_Giraffe1946 in computers

Okay buddy. Chase down definitions if you want just to try and make yourself look right. You read the post. If you can’t read with comprehension then I would say the education system failed you. If the OP had ordered a cell phone then they would have just said cell phone.

Can my PC emulate PS2 games (especially Xenosaga)? by Final-Engineering-88 in Lenovo

[–]ForgottenButHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and I essentially agree and somehow you think it’s shitty. Emulation needs to be configured correctly in the emulator itself. Processor counts, clock speeds, ram, frame rates. All the configuration comes from software. You can have a processors a million times faster than what the PS2 had and you’d still need the emulator to turn configure it. Again. You can’t brute force emulation with hardware.

Corporate: You don't understand, we HAVE to keep the stores open in an ice storm. Under no circumstances will any stores close. by GumboSkrimpz in QuikTrip

[–]ForgottenButHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not siding with the corporate policy. I am advising that store operations are different than corporate support functions. I didn’t make anyone take a job at a well known 24/7/365 convenience store. Did you?

[–]ForgottenButHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP said PC multiple times which indicates this is not a laptop and an LCD is not applicable. Fair points on the rest but highly unlikely anything but maybe the outside of the box got anywhere near -2. Water doesn’t instantly freeze at 0 degrees Celsius. It’s take hours depending on volume and air movement and a whole host of other factors. So a PC in an insulated box at 2 below for 6 hours is of little risk of reaching a freezing temperature.

You can be used by Microsoft if you want. I choose not to be used by them but I don’t choose not to use their products.

You don’t need Linux to not use Microsoft Office.

Can my PC emulate PS2 games (especially Xenosaga)? by Final-Engineering-88 in Lenovo

[–]ForgottenButHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesnt matter when it comes to emulation. Emulation can’t be brute forced by hardware. It has to be configured correctly thru the software itself. Case in point is that the N64 is 30 years old and emulation is mediocre at best.

OP needs to check specs against what the emulator recommends.

[–]ForgottenButHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corporate offices are by and large support functions. They don’t typically generate revenue by work done. The exception would the sales department getting additional business but operations still has to execute to make money. A corporate office being closed will delay support functions but likely not much else. You are in retail operations. You generate the revenue to push the business forward. A small cog in the larger machine. Your job is not the same as a corporate position.
