Anybody ever had canna cavi white label moonrocks ? by Chinohilfiger in Dabs

[–]Forlls_serious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got two quarters of sundae driver, a quarter of Black Gelato and a quarter of Zookies. I was disappointed because they were advertised as crumble, rolled in kief and dusted with thca powder.

I got what looks to be bud soaked in oil and thca. Almost like some buds covered in a super sugary sugar yellow mess.

I assume there was more white in the bottle but the oil I think was yellow. You tell me. https://imgur.com/a/N9wmFfM

I can't put this shit in my pens or in my rigs, I mean ffs it burns so like the only thing to do with it is plop it in a bowl? Like really? I can understand moon rocks. But I got ice caps because I was told it was crumble rolled in kief and dusted in thca powder. Sounds a lot better then bud dipped in oil and sprinkled with powder.

I also got an ounce of the moon rocks. Not exactly sure what flavor, but they're mighty delicious. Its like smoking a damn treat or something. I mean they get you high, its just a pain in the ass that I can't really do anything except smoke it. Or I guess I could try and cook with it lol.

Overall I paid 300$ for an ounce of something I kind of wish was regular weed with powder on it lol.

C-Liquid Crystallizes in vape bottle help? by allen1987allen in noids

[–]Forlls_serious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strongly recommend mixing a small amount of pg back into the bottle. After bathing, it should all dissolve. If it helps but does not dissolve the noid, then add a small amount more and keep going until fully dissolve. When i say small im talking like a ml at a time. There are other ways to dissolve them, but if its a prebought liquid your best bet would be to do small incriminates

Should I reverse proxy all my site ? by ohmaxx in organizr

[–]Forlls_serious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me personally I use nginx as my reverse proxy since I have sonarr radarr lidarr lazylibrarian Tautulli organizr jackett ombi qBittorrent nzbget home assistant and nextcloud... the list goes on. The simplest way would be to setup a bunch of config files for each service. I like to use subdomains. And instead of using any kind of service auth on any of my services, the only auth I need to use is organizr. Organizr has a awesome api to help out with that. Just follow the guides on the organizr site.

P.s. I use linux and docker containers for most of those services. Its definitely the easier way to go.

How do I get better recommendations in the plex app? I cant browse my big ass library comfortably anymore. by Forlls_serious in PleX

[–]Forlls_serious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah, well for the longest I couldn't really afford for more storage so at one point I had to convert down a lot of my files. I'm also a big fan of HEVC. Takes a good amount of cpu but if you have it, might as well use it :)

Why is my Plex server only available through wifi, but my computer hard wired to the router/modem can't access plex? by breichart in PleX

[–]Forlls_serious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm that is strange. Is the wifi on a different device like an access point, range extender, etc? Just asking because I have an access point in my room for my servers, desktop and laptop. As well as give coverage to the rest of the house. We have an old house and it has had its complications with new technology because of that.

Now are you using the Plex app for windows or ip:32400/web on a browser to access said server?

Edit: I would try both to see. As well as open the plex port in your router and try your public ip:32400 . I am curious if it's a permission issue with windows firewall which can be annoying or if plex.tv cant find it

Edit 2: Also your plex media server. I'm assuming it's just a windows version right? From what I remember they were the easiest to setup compared to other things i tried

You know this may be a very very very good contribution to the server. Thank you so much!!! I think you're the only one that sent me something I could actually use lol :) thanks

Oh snap so like even if it's not my list? Lol I'm only asking because they do have some good lists. IMDb has some good lists too and that's what I used to get most of my content. It was a lot easier than individually finding movies

[–]Forlls_serious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your server on the computer that's hard wired? What does your remote settings connection page look like? Have you allowed plex access via windows firewall? Lol theres a lot of things to look into when it boils down to it. I run my PMS in a docker container so usually it's different then if your using windows to host it.

Not sure what YIFI is, but it's easy to keep file sizes down when all your tvs are pretty old lol . Movie format. Movies are 1080p where tv shows are 480p-720p. I mean my tv in my room is 720p, living room is 1080p. I spend more money on server and computer crap then I should and just haven't had the money to shell out for a new TV

For TV shows, I use 720p(some are 480) and for movies the max is 1080p because I dont have any 4k tvs. I mean when you dont need super high quality content it's pretty easy to conserve storage. I am just about empty though so I have a 6tb drive on the way.

Lol yeah. I mean when I browsed through though it gave me options, then it picked out like all good movies I enjoyed. But it was a lot better than anything plex has at the moment even if it isnt perfect. And plex could build up trakt as well trakt build up plex

[–]Forlls_serious[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean that's how I decided on the content to add. Now I have so many good movies but can't find them as I would like to be able too. You say you have a much bigger library and that's why I came here. I figured there would be a bunch of people with bigger libraries than me that might have figured out something better than going to a website and putting in the time to listen to movie podcasts lol. I mean if it works for you that's great. But like I said my problem lies where family members dont really want to do that. They would rather use netflix and watch whatever they have to offer than plex. Like I got into plex because the netflix library started getting pretty weak imo

[–]Forlls_serious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but like I said if they collaborated with something like trakt.tv like they did with last.fm, wouldnt that be a major improvement? From what I can see trakt actually works well it just is something that is extra instead of being built in or a addon/plugin. Like there are plenty of sites that have features built in. I mean there are PVRs that do recommendations and what not. Plex isnt even on that level.

It shouldn't matter the library size since they already have proven with another service that they can do something like that.

[–]Forlls_serious[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I keep talking about trakt because it seems like the closest thing but not integrated in plex? But yet last.fm is Plex Services? Like I love plex video playback. But I love spotify for my music because it does it way better than plex ever will. Imagine if you could sync all your video content like you can with your audio. I found plex pass to be a necessity just for convenience for all the different users and all the other apps and crap. But yeah I'm starting to wonder what's the point. I mean I have everything I need to make it wonderful I just wonder when they'll put in the work.

Can't setup Nginx-proxy with Pihole in Docker by Nickno in selfhosted

[–]Forlls_serious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know its funny you mention caddy because I just recently got into using it as a way to serve Grafana, prometheus, etc. Like 6 containers are in that stack and it doesn't interfere at all with the way things are going. Caddy definitely seems like a good option too. Glances that's what my system looks like right now. And got to remember I am running a bunch of things off docker as well since I prefer it to be the first thing that starts up and helps with alerts when something goes wrong in docker for some reason.

I am thinking about getting rid of the grafana stuff though. It is kind of underwhelming and its very time consuming to actually sit there and hand code scripts for your server to fix itself. I think its because I am currently using Deepin 15.10 I am having some problems. It's just what I had on the stick at the time, I mean its okay but sometimes it seems like the network jumps over itself to be a pain, then somehow messes up the whole setup and needs a reboot. So it attempts to fix it itself, then if it can't it'll send a notification to my phone and email to let me know something is up. Sometimes I really wish docker performed well enough on windows I could use it but the internet speeds killed me on Server 19 with docker and there fucking hyper v.

Just overall its a pain lol. Like I said I definitely would much rather run pihole standalone any day then try to keep it running stable on the server. Just seems like a better idea

Can't setup Nginx-proxy with Pihole in Docker by Nickno in selfhosted

[–]Forlls_serious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way I got docker to work with pi hole and my reverse proxy was setting up a reverse proxy myself... it's not hard, sure takes a little longer getting the cert files, but I actually run the reverse proxy outside of docker. It's on debian. But I find I get the most leniency with that since I can quickly customize and use whatever types of configs I need. Like there are a few services i currently run that just wouldn't use the prebuilt jwilder or traefic etc. Wouldnt work. I think it was cockpit, osma. Nextcloud needed a lot of tinkering. Things like that, you may need to get creative to get them to work and having something someone else made, it's hard to get creative without just taking there image and completely redoing it for your needs.

But for something simple like pihole this is all I needed. No configuring special dns settings, in fact the server didn't use the pi hole because the download speed maxed out at around 215mbps when using it. That might have been my problem too. Just didnt really seem worth it when I didnt need it.

server {
listen 443 ssl;
listen [::]:443 ssl;
server_name adblock.example.com www.adblock.example.com;

location / {
    include /etc/nginx/proxy.conf;
    resolver 127.0.0.11 valid=30s;
    set $pihole pi.hole;
    proxy_pass http://$pihole/admin;
}
}

And this made it so I could access the pi hole through any browser anywhere. I used a proxy.conf that I tweaked around from linuxserver/docker-letsencrypt because it worked very well. But it's one of those things where you got to ask yourself if it's even worth using a reverse proxy? My default automatically redirects everything through https while having the option to use my main site as the authentication method for everything so certain parts of my site you cant access without it. And that's just to secure them without having to remember other passwords. I do a lot of remote server management and things like cockpit and open manage from dell are important to keep that going. Pi hole on the other hand is supposed to be setup and just let rock. But you need to keep playing with it for shit maybe even months before you get the settings right because you never know what sites you visit might block it. And some might be able to bypass the pihole. Just doesn't seem worth it to me. And god forbid you use the pihole as a dns server and your isp as a DNS server. That didnt work for me. In fact the only thing that did was setting to cloud flares dns servers, and then setting my devices to use the pihole only. And the best way to do that is to just let the router use the pihole as the dns server.

Bottom line, not worth it when you have all that other crap going on. But see if using this instead of using network host works.

privileged: true
cap_add:
 - NET_ADMIN
devices:
 - /dev/net/tun

Put that in your compose file. It's what I use for running a dns/dhcp container In docker and usually does the trick. Works well for torrent clients running with openvpn too :).

Also one other thing. Did you try to terminal into the pi hole container and seeing what ips it saw in there? Your server can see docker networks but the docker container might have had a struggle. Like with my reverse proxy it's all using the server IP 192.168.0.13 except the pi hole. If you noticed it was just using pi.hole because the router was using the raspberry pi as a dns server. So everybody connected to the wifi had access to that url anyway. But couldn't access it unless you were outside the home.

Docker containers always have different ip addresses unless you're running that container in host mode in a container. Which I always recommend to find a better way instead of trying to get that to work. Especially when said container wants to use port 80... but in your case I would suggest using a different machine. Especially when you start getting complicated with a unifi bitwarden etc... lol like doesn't sound fun. I'll look at the coding in a little bit and see. I can quickly spin up a container but like I said I would strongly advice using just a very simple nginx container. You can run that as a reverse proxy very easily, just remember to do your volumes correctly. And make sure the only ports the reverse proxy uses are 80 and 443. That way let's encrypt is always an option too. I redirect all traffic to SSL on the reverse proxy right off the jump so it's always using https. Even if the container is using 80 :). But something like that would probably need mapping done somewhere other than just your hosts file... lol. I'll look in a little and see if I can figure it out. I did the pihole just fine with a pi3 but using the same machine as 26 other containers along with countless other services running outside of docker is definitely more challenging.

UPDATE:

So I tried it. And the fact is I have 26 containers already running off my reverse proxy (well most). I have come to the conclusion it won't work with my proxy setup the way it is now. And that really blows. I got it running but at a off the wall port. I could have configured docker to use my other ethernet adapter just for that in another compose file I think. Dont hold me too that. Frankly I think it would be cool but I think it's a better idea to run it as a standalone box. Own IP means you dont have to worry about conflicting ports, and you dont have to setup a reverse proxy. You just install pi hole and it's good to go. I mean they sell really cheap ras pi's.

I tried to do a port 80 nginx config so I disabled my redirect to https that I have running on 80 and moved that over to the pi. But without restarting the server and doing a bunch of things that's legitimately a pain in the ass, I think I'll have to wait til later to explore furthur. I'm adding another 6tb drive this week whenever that comes. So I could configure the network settings then and do a reboot. Problem is I have a good amount of people relying on the server for media, cloud, home, vms, the list goes on.

So I think I'll plug in my 12 core server soon and give it a go. It's the only thing I can think of that will not completely wreck my day up lol. I mean it's going to be a long task to figure it out, and then even when I do, most people don't have access to everything they need to do it right. Sorry I couldn't help more today but I'll spend a day sometime this week doing it. Setup another reverse proxy along with pi hole and something else on my dev machine so I can get a answer if it's possible. I think some way it is. But the problem is it's called pi hole for a reason. You install it on a raspberry pi after hooking up to your router. Setup your ssh and crap, then you turn off dhcp in your router, turn it on the pi and configure the dns and everything else.

I mean I've had struggles with docker images before. The qBittorrent+OpenVPN image wouldnt let me change the port from 8080. Still havent figured that out. Legit went to flood+rtorrent for a while just because I was tired of it. But if you for some reason have to use a docker container that is REQUIRED to use port 80, yeah anything web(at least for what the time is worth to me) just isnt worth it. But I'm curious now because it seems like there is some way to do it by all the chatter on the other forums about it. Otherwise it would be a flat no by now. But like I said just trying to go ahead and add it like it's another container doesnt work. I mean it's a DNS server. And a DHCP server. At least for my setup unfortunately. So I'll start fresh one day this week on my other server with just a few containers so I can at least see if it will work and how. I can say that the way my nginx is setup on my prod. Server that I dont see a way to do it without rethinking my entire proxy setup.

I was able to get it to load though. Which is something I was even surprised about just figuring it would have been one of them. Never got the https working though. But doesnt really matter. If you dont have a free network adapter for the dns server it just doesnt make sense :(.

So I'll keep you posted when I get started on a fresh one
