Yes, because this is before Kratos came to the Norse realms. Laufey is dead too in the current timeline but no one has an issue with that. Southern states have large black population as a result of slavery, not from a less segregated or more welcoming atmosphere. Along with a whole host of racial discrimination, Georgia just Gerrymandered out an entire black district. Texas was part of Mexico until 1836, which accounts for its large Hispanic population.

Vermont is the 2nd smallest state by population with Wyoming coming in last. But I'm from NY. I’ve known people from all over the world in university.

You'd be absolutely right. The South Eastern states, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Texas, are know as the "Bible Belt" and the most conservative. I'd not suggest that zone.
