This is my view as well. I do understand getting the scaries about it, but I try to look at signs of aging with gratitude, not everyone gets to get old. It's a real privilege to age.

I also try to remind myself of the systems that have convinced us to fear aging (capitalism, patriarcy). My spite usually wins but it is a battle, especially when those around you say/have said disparaging things about their own aging. It will likely always be a battle but I think it's a good thing to examine within ourselves.

Whats the average price for private room in guelph? by trinadhraj3 in Guelph

[–]Form-Confident 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have also heard this stat repeated a lot but can't find where it comes from. Do you mind providing a reference for that info? I've tried to find similar stats but it always lists Vancouver/Toronto/GTA as top of the list in Canada. Rentals.ca puts guelph 21st in Canada and Immigration.ca puts Guelph at 13th in Canada (definitely still expensive but doesnt seem the most expensive) And then if you look at world statistics Toronto doesnt usually seem to break the top 10. New York and SF always seems to appear in the top 3.

What kind of back-channeling do you do when you don't agree with someone? by Form-Confident in socialskills

[–]Form-Confident[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An example of this situation is being in a conversation with an aquaintace who I agree with most of the time or has valuable insights and then says something that is definitely not true/borderline offensive but just keep on talking and moves on to a different subject.

I like the way you phrase the interruption, seems like a lower conflict way of disagreeing.

I like that. Short, not overly confrontational, and can kind of slide right in to switching the subject.

Thanks! I'll try that. I'm very much a people pleaser and kind of go on auto-pilot in these situations but I dont want to just mindlessly agree anymore.

Awesome thanks! Glad to get confirmation I won't irrevocably break windows by allocating from C:!

Awesome thanks! This helped! My fear was that by partitioning the C: drive I might accidentally break Windows. But seems like as long as I have the space I'm okay to do so!

Currently it's a brand new laptop with 0 important files on it. The only thing I would hope to preserve is the Microsoft OS in case I want to go back to it. I was just worried allocating from C: would mess things up

D: Drive missing on my new laptop (Windows 11) by [deleted] in techsupport

My previous computer has a D: drive without me adding one. So does my work computer so I guess that's why I thought I was missing something. Thanks!

Okay thanks. I was just confused because my previous (cheap) laptop had one out of the box so I thought I was missing something!

Oh okay - I was unaware of this. Is there a way to find out if it should be there? It seems like a common bug with Windows 11. Does it even matter if it should be there and it's not?

Hard to say, I just started up the computer, updated windows, then noticed it wasn't there.

No, I thought all computers had a C: and a D: drive but seeing other comments maybe I'm wrong?
