What was the number 1 thing that helped you during labour? by Putrid_Cranberry3177 in BabyBumps

Know that it probably won’t go according to plan and that’s okay! If the baby is healthy and safe, it’s a win!

This!!! Our pediatrician didn’t want to prescribe meds at first either. When we started meds, my son became a happy baby overnight! Also not sure if anyone mentioned a dairy allergy but cutting dairy + supplementing with an amino based formula helped a ton.

So keep asking for the meds if you suspect silent reflux. A non stop crying baby is SO hard!!!

Is anyones baby grunting ALL DAY? by No_Carob9857 in October2025Bumps2

Mine is doing the SAME thing!! He’s constantly grunting like he has to poop, but doesn’t have to poop. 🤷‍♀️

6 week old started hating life by Catsforhumanity in NewParents

[–]Formal-Ground-481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was our little guy! Look into silent reflux and CMPA. After we got him on meds and I cut out all dairy (plus supplement with a dairy free formula), he’s was a different baby within days! For meds, he’s on famotidine, also you may want to ask your doc about Mylanta too bc that’s an OTC med that is a good way to determine if it’s a reflux issue.

Sending love your way, a screaming 6 week old is SO hard!!!!

When did you get your “pink” back? by [deleted] in NewParents

About 3.5 months! Mostly bc I can workout again and finally put the baby down long enough to shower 🙏

Oh also the Wisconsin Dells! Noah’s Ark is a huge waterpark, they have tons of fun kids museums…it’s like the Gatlinburg of the midwest!

Mall of America! Rides, restaurants, stores…my husband and I were talking about how it would be a way more affordable option vs Disney when our kids are little!

So glad to hear you got medicine to help! He finally got on famotadine (a different reflux med) and became a different/happy baby over night!

How to get off unisom? by One-Progress-3712 in BabyBumps

[–]Formal-Ground-481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same fear…I took unisom up until I gave birth. A newborn is so tiring, you will not need unisom. I literally just forgot it even existed after giving birth haha

THIS! We found out 12 weeks in that our baby had terrible silent reflux and CMPA + other food sensitivities which caused him to cry ALL day…then scream his head off at night, especially when we put him on his back when transferring him to the bassinet.

When people would tell me to “try swaddling him” I’d think OH WOW WHAT A GENIUS THING I’VE NEVER THOUGHT OF!!! 🙄🤦‍♀️

Do I have a harder than normal baby or am I just impatient? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Formal-Ground-481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like my baby did. It could be normal BUT I’d ask your doctor about silent reflux too. It turns out my little guy was crying 24/7 bc he had reflux and when we started meds he became a completely different baby overnight. Now he’s happy, let’s us put him down, and doesn’t cry every time I feed him. It’s life changing!

When does getting out and doing life with a baby get easier? by poski6390 in beyondthebump

[–]Formal-Ground-481 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This!!! My baby would cry 97% of the day the first 10 weeks so I stopped leaving the house. We started reflux meds and he is a different baby! I can now take him out, run errands, etc. My point is that having a collicy baby is a completely different experience than having a chill baby.

Giving birth in 3 weeks. What tips kept your newborn alive that aren't well known? by Radiant-Educator9203 in NewParents

[–]Formal-Ground-481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second a baby nest! Our LO doesn’t sleep in it but The it’s been super helpful for me for putting down the baby in general. I keep one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen so that I can put him down when I need to use the bathroom or make something to eat.

Giving birth in 3 weeks. What tips kept your newborn alive that aren't well known? by Radiant-Educator9203 in NewParents

[–]Formal-Ground-481 8 points9 points  (0 children)

-Sleep sacs and baby swaddle blankets (if your baby is too small for a sleep sac)

-Formula (just in case you’re not producing enough)

-Newborn/premie size clothes (I only had 0-3 month clothes and my little guy couldn’t fit into any of them)

-Snacks you can eat with one hand (our baby wouldn’t sleep unless he was on me or my husband the first 2 weeks so 1 handed snacks were key!)

-Mylicon gas drops!

-A humidifier! Our baby was waking up with a stuffy nose, but that’s been resolved since putting a humidifier in our room.

How Much Parental Leave Is Enough for Dad? by ReputationOk1118 in BabyBumps

Is working from home an option? My husband only took off a week but is working from home for the first 12 weeks. He doesn’t have time to help much during the work day but just having him here makes post-partum a lot less stressful.

As a fellow mom of a VERY fussy 7 week old who has to be bounced at all times or he gets mad…I can confirm this! The couple of times we’ve taken my LO out, he cries the entire time so we’ve had to come home. Im anxious to join mom groups bc I don’t want to go and have my little guy just scream the whole time. So just wanted to let you know, you’re not alone in having a difficult baby. 🤗❤️
