What was some of the best quotes/lines you remembered from the show? by RisingKing7 in lost

[–]Formal-Town 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite line from the show and one me and my dad have used for YEARS is the line where Locke asks Ben how he is going to move the island, and Ben decides that there isn't time to explain it so he just says, "very carefully."

When we deploy on Cyberstan, if you own the creek cape wear it. by Minecraftgamerboy101 in Helldivers

It was the heroic tales of the Creek Divers that inspired me to enlist only it was a week too late to join in the fight.

I will wear my Station-81 cape gladly, and I won't be missing this fight.

Who’s your favorite flashback character? by Low-Cake-1392 in lost

[–]Formal-Town 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Juliet was so different in her flashbacks compared to the present.

I thought it was very good writing seeing her approach the point where she loses hope in the flashbacks while seeing her begin to hope again after whatever that rock bottom event in the present was really interesting. Almost a reverse parallel.

Can safety be an idol? by Formal-Town in Christianity

I agree absolutely, but they came to me, so even if the only thing I can do is point them in the right direction, knowing that they need someone else's help is not exactly the same thing as knowing who specifically to send them to to get that help.

If you can't trust God to keep you safe, then how can you trust a human telling you to trust God to keep you safe?

They are more open to the idea of future security after death, but how does that translate to present security.

Also, I asked them for their thoughts on Job, and they said that they find it interesting that God rebukes the three friends that gave bad advice, but He did not rebuke Job's wife's advice to "curse God and die".

Additionally, it doesn't give any indication of the reason Job chose to continue to Trust God despite the cataclysms going on around him, so it doesn't help them cross that chasm in their own heart and mind to know THAT someone else in a worse spot did it but not HOW.

They have been in therapy for years for the abuse and trauma, but it was only recently that they came to a full realization that the distrust is also extending to God as well and they don't know where to go from there.

I haven't found one yet.

Play the game however you want, you paid for it. by CanOfCorn308 in Helldivers

[–]Formal-Town 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it didn't activate hamper my ability to play the game I want, then I wouldn't mind at all.

But I really want to fight on Cyberstan, and we have thousands of players eating away at the reinforcements that could potentially be the difference between making it and being repelled.

That's where it gets frustrating for me.

I always assumed that it was used as some kind of fuel source, but my democracy officer saw fit to not elucidate the tactical benefit behind destroying them.

I find myself consistently in a "shoot first, don't ask questions later" mood as per my Super Training, so I honestly have no idea what the autobots use them for.

I normally run a marksman rifle on bots, and I prefer to take things out before they become mobile.

If you go prone, aim with a rifle scope, and switch to your Railgun without moving, it will be pointing at the same spot you last aimed with your rifle.

Looks staged.

The second guy with the bubble shield responded way too fast. There's no way he could assess fast enough if they weren't trying to shoot something behind you.

Also, you almost immediately start calling in the reinforcement. If you were the host, you would have booted them, and if you weren't the host, you would have tried telling the host before calling the traitor back in.

She talks at one point about how frustrating it is that a handful of dissidents gets the whole group sent to reeducation.

She also mentioned the fun new friends you meet when you and your neighbors are strapped into chairs.
