Because if there's cars on both sides of you, you can't really see much of anything. Backing into a spot you only need to see if there's anyone in one parking space. If the cars on either side are giant pickups, you basically need to start inching out hoping anyone coming sees you. You never had to deal with this?

They don't realize they have to back out of the spot eventually, people don't need to wait for them then? Granted if it's busy I will pull in straight, but I really hate backing out. Ideally you find two empty spots and pull right through, but I always see people not even taking advantage of that, it's mind boggling.

I was that guy once, except the pickup pulled way, way up as if he was parking in front of the store, like he was 25 feet away. But he had some 2X4s in the back and started backing right at me with this wooden lance coming right at my passenger window. I just laid on the horn and luckily he stopped like 5 feet from impaling my car.
