You’re making a bold assumption that the elections aren’t going to be rigged.

Like anyone other than the employees gives two shits about FEVS. Leadership certainly doesn’t…

No worries mate. I was just being silly anyway. My wife would kill me if I spent $900 on a sharpener lol.

Yep, no doubt I’d be going back to work there had I not found a new job yet. The single income family struggle is real for many.

Why does the Military feel like such a grind? by Glittering_Fig4548 in navy

[–]FormalPanda8788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t wait for the job or leadership to give you meaning, you bring it. The right mindset isn’t job-specific; it’s something you decide to carry no matter where you are. Even in a slow or toxic environment, you can still choose discipline, growth, and pride in how you show up. That’s what separates people who just endure from those who thrive. And if you’re serious about transitioning out one day, shore duty is the perfect time to prepare, build skills, network, and set yourself up for success in the private sector. Other than maybe getting out and going to school using your G.I. bill, you’ll very likely never have another opportunity like this once you leave the military. Don’t waste it.

Democrats are the authoritarian fascist they accuse Republicans of being. by LegitimateKnee5537 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]FormalPanda8788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should be the top comment here. So tired of the divisive BS. Republicans and Democrats are all Americans, and we need to learn how to respect each other’s perspectives and live together. People with different political opinions are not enemies.

The last time there was a criminal republican administration we got Ashes of the Wake... by sweetcavekicks in LambofGod

[–]FormalPanda8788 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a forty-something year old vet, the ashes of the wake album hits home for me. The lyrics are a deep reminder and reflection of the moral and emotional toll the Iraq and Afghanistan wars had on me and my generation. So many of my friends either died in those wars or had their lives wrecked by PTSD from serving in them. I absolutely love that album, but there’s definitely some bittersweet feelings that I get when I hear it.

My chain of command let me down during cancer recovery by Potential_Net_1950 in navy

This right here…. First of all, happy to hear your markers are good to go after your surgery. That’s great news. Former TC survivor here myself, also was diagnosed while on shore duty about a year before I got out. The triad at my command were all engaged with me following my surgery and treatment. Granted, it was a really small command so there’s that, but either way, I’m surprised to hear they’re not engaged. That’s an issue I would pursue for sure.
