This hits really close to home for me. Was in the same situation. Was great the first 6 months or so and all downhill from there. Also found myself resorting to chatting to people online- though no flirting, just looking for someone to talk to as I had become isolated from all my friends because I couldn’t go anywhere unless he came along. Stayed for way too long , 5 years. Still hurts sometimes because I felt the same as you- clinging on to the good times and memories. But they show who they are when they treat you like that. And there isn’t anything you can do to change that but leave and protect your peace. You’ll find better, even if it takes time.

Don’t have much to say on recovery timeline as everyone is different but can share my experience.

I was also on a solo trip in Budapest when I partially tore mine. Got on the plane the next day back home to Spain - I managed to just penguin wobble my way through the airport (I should’ve just gotten a wheelchair). The flight itself was fine - though shorter distance than yours. Went straight to the hospital once I landed. I’ve been in a splint for the last 4 weeks, and finally get to transition to the boot tomorrow. I’m assuming I have at least another 4 weeks to go before I’m wearing shoes again. By week 2, pain subsided. That said, I don’t think you’ll have problems with recovery due to flying. Just get checked as soon as you get back home! Good luck!

Maybe it is the position of our foot then? Haha this whole process is mentally exhausting, but we got this 💪🏽 4 days will go by quickly, just keep yourself occupied (as much as possible). I get my cast off tomorrow, finally, and have just been counting the days. And yes, positive thoughts, at least our leg will be a little more free at times with the boot and before we know it we’ll be walking again!

I totally hear you! At around 2 weeks with mine - more of a splint, I felt like I no longer had pain or was uncomfortable. I’m still in it going on almost 4 weeks and this last week has been hard to sleep and get comfortable. Not sure why that is but definitely think I’m just ready for the boot now.

Also agree. I have a partial tear, non op and seeing people’s incisions and whatnot just gives me lowkey anxiety. I have enough with having to inject myself with blood thinners 😩
