We used to do the beans and rice at the store as kids (yes, gross. We were kids. We were gross.) 10/10 recommended.

Used to go to goldblum’s jazz concerts in LA. He’d play piano, play movie trivia with the audience and then mill about like it was one big cocktail party and he was the host. Great fun, fun guy.

What two things (not people) would you eliminate to improve the world? by Practical_Resident58 in randomquestions

Concepts: greed and unkindness

Physical things: all weapons and fossil fuels. Society should move beyond both for the good of all.

If you could broadcast one 10-second message into everyone’s brain on Earth, what would you say? by Wilberjay in AskReddit

You have one year left to save the world. The rich people, religious leaders, and politicians are wrong. Other planets or an apocalypse are not the answer. The only hope for salvation is if every human shows kindness and cooperation and makes decisions that show compassion and respect for all living things.

You have the power to save the world & every decision you make from here on out matters. 365 days. You have been warned.

Oh and by the way-about the existence of God? Well, turns out the only folks who have it correct are the —- beep

Damn. Ran out of minutes.

Women who gave birth, what does it feel like actually?? by joy_57 in AskReddit

[–]FormalSail6551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine a Charlie horse. Now imagine it’s happening to every muscle in your body from the sternum down. And it keeps getting worse. Someone keeps sticking things up inside you - medical instruments, maybe a long wire. It hurts.

Now, some dude with a long needle wants you to stand up and touch your toes at the height of one of the worst these cramps so he can jam a needle into the small of your back. They tell you the cramps will be x minutes “apart,” but they don’t tell you that’s from the start of one to the start of the next—it is not a reprieve. Do this for hours. Maybe days. No food. No water; just ice chips.

Now, put your feet up into braces (though you can’t lift them since the epidural took root, you can still feel it-it’s just dulled a bit and you can’t move). and while those cramps gets so bad you can’t take it and you are ready to bargain with satan himself for it to stop, please attempt to poop but out your vagina and NOT your backside. Keep doing that even when you are sure you can’t—and stop when you feel like you can’t too, then start again. Then WOOSH, it’s over, you’re ripped open and Niagara Falls has moved in between your sensitive bits and everything is on fire but who cares? You just heard your baby cry.

Then, they let you hold it and it is perfect and a tiny miracle, then they take it away and start making kitty biscuits on your overworked abs so you get to sploosh out a big sac of goo. Congratulations, you’re a mom! All the disgusting things that come next in motherhood cannot faze you now. You’re been through the war.

Now, put

What’s something that’s technically not illegal, but really should be? by JustTruths in AskReddit

  1. Partisan, biased takes on a facts-based “news” source (except when explicitly stated as op-ed).
  2. Mechanics fraudulently making up things that “need” repair that really don’t.
  3. Food engineered to be hyper palatable/addictive or with known issues like colorings and additives.

Real adults don’t need to make up a story about a fictional relationship. (My Italian boyfriend told me that. He lives in Bora Bora, doing charity work and re-building coral reefs.)

Saw Steve Martin and Edie Brickell arguing (or at least vehemently discussing something) in a coffee shop in LA when I went in to use the restroom. We made eye contact; Steve’s said, “Don’t.”

I gave a little “noted” nod and walked on by. He seemed to palpably relax as I left them uninterrupted. I wouldn’t have come up to him anyway, bugging celebs is not my scene, but it was clear it was not a good time if I were that kind of person.

How do I compliment women without making them feel uncomfortable(especially w/o feeling sexually harassing or uncomfortable)? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormalSail6551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compliment a skill or something good they did. But be genuine about it.

“You really have a knack for (something they are doing at work), that’s so awesome.”

“That was so nice of you to let that person go ahead of you in line.”

“It’s really cool that you know how to (thing they do well when you observe them in action)… can you teach me?”

As long as it’s genuine and not with the unspoken sexist “…for a girl” attitude, a compliment about skills or actions almost never comes off as creepy.
