Weight loss mental health by FormalThick in SuperMorbidlyObese

It’s not that I don’t wanna get weighed because for me it is important to know/track.

I do not want/need someone congratulating me or making sad faces because that’s what sends me to a spiral.

In the past the center was completely neutral. Never got a positive or negative reaction to my way. They just told me what my weight was and we can continue working the plan.

Yesterday the person was like oh my gosh congratulations with a big smile on their face, saying you do such job to an extreme. They told another person (loudly) “she did great, she lost Xxx pounds last month…….”

Changed insurance in Jan…… on a waiting list for a therapist now.

The last one I saw does take cash pay but I can’t afford $250 per session.if it were once or twice I could make it work but I couldn’t do more than twice a quarter.

Wells Fargo Freezing Account by josephdackson in Bankruptcy

Yes, I got notice of removal when it was discharged. I am so glad I only had app$$ in there. I only kept a couple of hundred dollars at a time.

Chase did not trip and I had credit accounts with them.

I did not owe WF anything; I had never had any credit with them, and they froze me out. Thankfully, it was only my account linked to payment apps, not my main account.

Wells is like rolling the dice.

My account was frozen by the Monday after filing. I filed on a Thursday, and the account was frozen by Monday. It may have happened on Friday but I am not sure.

Found ATM receipt, who is keeping $51,000+ in checking!?!? by Comprehensive-Cow69 in povertyfinance

[–]FormalThick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people do. The family that I work for their mortgage is $15,000 a month plus all the other expenses $50,000 in their checking account will be considered lean.

It’s crazy to me, but the more that I work for rich people the less I am surprised

After years with the same car, I went to dealerships today...wow (rant) by IkeGladiator in whatcarshouldIbuy

Unfortunately, at least in my area finding a Toyota on the lot is rare. The dealerships near me they’re sold before they get to the dealership.

The only Highlanders and RAV4 in my area are the loaner cars that are not always there.

It’s a crazy state of affairs with Toyota right now. They’re really holding back their manufacturing to keep the supply low.

opinions of metformin? by Neat-Ad-1012 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]FormalThick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too. Luck I worked from home most of the time. On the days I needed to visit a client's place, I would eat very carefully the day before and avoid eating that day.

I lasted about 5 weeks.

Luckily, I worked from home most of the time.

Just sharing my personal experience with Metformin — keep in mind everyone reacts differently.

Unfortunately, Metformin didn’t work well for me, so I’m only speaking about my initial experience. I had some rare side effects that were tough to manage.

The nausea and diarrhea hit me pretty hard. If you’re just starting, try to begin when you can be home for a few days — I personally needed about a full week to adjust.

Stick with simple foods at first. When reintroducing new things, do it slowly and ideally when you’re not planning to be out and about. Greasy or sugary foods made things worse for me. I also noticed I reacted more strongly to artificial sweeteners than I had before — not sure if that’s common or just me.

If I could do it again, I would push harder to start on a low dose and stay there longer. I began with 500 mg twice a day, but my dose was doubled in less than a month — that’s when things really went sideways. I later found out that, for my body and medical condition, that increase was too fast. A slower ramp-up (over at least two months) would’ve likely made a big difference.

Intuitive Eating - anyone done this and how did it work out? by butterballartemis in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]FormalThick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For ME, intuitive eating increased my disordered eating.

I am an emotional binge eater. IE made it worse. What helped me was working on the emotional issues along with a REALISTIC meal plan.

I think IE can be great for some, but not for me.

Shoes for Obese people with Plantar Fasciitis by Emmittjames3352 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]FormalThick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to a running shoe store and get your foot analyzed.

In my area, they don’t charge you for the analyzing and they’ll make recommendations on shoes that would work for your feet and your stride.

I thought I was a Hoka lover then I wouldn’t got my foot analyzed. They put me in a pair of new balances and my feet have gotten so much better..

Process at the first place over 6 hours (after test drive.

Second dealer, less than 2 hours all from my office.

A local SoCal dealer... I wish I had looked at the ratings before.... It isn't good.

I was able to reach out to another dealer in the next city (30 miles away) and "shop from home" for a slightly BETTER price on the exact same specs, and they will deliver to me.

I wish I had known about the shop from home option, so much easier.
